I guess 3.50-18 converts to 100/90-18. ? I now have an obscure Russian tire on there, but can't find it now. Is Heidenau the only company that makes that size? Is there no one closer than California to order one? I sure wish I could order something from Parts Unlimited, but they only show an IRC round tread. I tried the Search gizmo but it seems Urals are 19 inch tars.
These people can help you -http://www.heindlengineering.com/Online_Store/duro_tires.htm. They also have the Heidenau - http://www.heindlengineering.com/Online_Store/heidenau_tires.htm:D
Do you have 18 inch or 19 inch wheels? I've used Avon SM MK II tires on my Ural for years. They outlast the Russian tires 2 to 1. You can get them from any Motorcycle shop or over the internet. They make both 18 & 19 inch in the Avon but the 18" tread patten seem to wear longer.
Eighteen ( 18 ) inch wheels. I need a 3.50 (or 100/90) for the front. For some strange reason, Avon makes a 4.00-18 or 3.50 19.
Viscious rumors are circulating that the Ural Retro uses a the size I need. My people are checking with their people. Who knows why checking takes so long...
As mentioned above call the nice guys at Heindl. The Retro does use 18" tires. What are you putting it on? I think a 100/90-18 is closer to 4.00 than 3.50.
Going on a /2 cenversion. The Earles have a disk, so I don't have a lot of room to play with. I think it's the Heindl folks who are giving 3 choices with a huge price difference. Those heindenau tires must be extra special in ways I can't figure.
Yep my Retro came with 18" King tires on it. I replaced them with the Avon SM MK II 400 x 18 and they just fit on the rear but had plenty of room on the front. I used the same tire on my R80 BMW rear but it had a 19 inch front so I went with the 3.50 x 19 Avon.
Yeah- 19" would be a lot easier. /2 BMW's came from the factory with a 3.25 tire. I have a 3.50 now, and I can just get a paper match cover between the fender and tire. No room for a 4.00. (I have a 4.00 on the back and I have to beat it on with a 4x4. Again- very little space between tire and drive shaft)
