So the trails are closed here, and it's raining. So of course I'm going to look at this Sunday:

A nice old man's trail sled, an Indy 500 Classic. Under 3000 miles, but he needs to put in a new fuel pump.

The weather is predicted to drop between 4 and 17 inches of snow on us tonight here in Eastern Idaho. Could be a good weekend to ride a little:clap

Didn't get much snow down here, but it was windy enough that school was let out early! Got an extra 45 minutes to work on my gradebook before parent teacher conferences. Few more inches expected tonight and tomorrow. Now if only one of my sleds worked...

My daughter says her english teacher says we'll either not have school tomorrow because of the snow or we won't have school on Monday because of the cold. Apparently Mrs. Green is never wrong in these matters...

Apparently our superintendent taught in Alaska... We were hitting -10 F without the windchill and still had school so I'm not holding my breath.

Yamaha has good motors, but they are heavy and have dated chassis. The Nytro XTX is the only good one, in my opinion.

Kind of a short day for us ... Plan was to get out to the lot, unload sleds, get the camping gear set out and ride.... till the furnace wouldn't light. No furnace means no camping ... not at -30°F-ish. So we'll be in the hotel for the next few days.

Hooked up with a couple of other guys we know that ride here regularly, Entz was out here but we didn't meet up with him today; maybe tomorrow. Since we're not loading/unloading all our gear now, we can gear up in the room and get out there, should give us some more time to ride tomorrow.

XC, Skibreeze, and Tudizzle. Let's Ride!

Lots of stucks today. Good snow.

But a great day of riding nonetheless.

Here's where Skibreeze bent an A-arm ... Limped out to the trail, then back to the trailer for some wrenchin'.

Nikon's going along tomorrow, hopefully get some better shots.

Little trail screamer that makes 800's cry on the trails. Its only good to 100, so its not a lake racer, and not much good off trail.

Sadly all the snow is gone in the North woods of Wisconsin, chompin at the bit to get out for the first time this year :cry

What set up are you using on the bikes? Are you fairly happy with them? I have been looking at the Timbersled setup for my 500 EXC - looks like a ton of fun!

Saw one guy struggling to unstuck a sled... turns out his buddies blew a belt and headed back to the trailer without him. :huh Ran into Entz on the way back to the truck.

I'm not sure what you mean by "what setup"

I'm running a 450 XC converted to a 525 with the Timbersled 136 track that is pretty decent. As always more horsepower would make it real sweet, hopefully someone will sell turbo charger kits for them soon.

Does anyone know if a moto converted to a sled with one of those track systems is legal on the Vermont vast trails? I took the training and it mentioned no tracked vehicles, but sounded more like quads or utvs with tracks. Seems a moto with a track would more closely resemble the footprint of a sled and not damage the underlying growth?

The growth is covered by snow... :scratch

When I lived just south of you in Massachusetts, Quads were frowned upon on the sled trails because their wheels would rut up the trails. I see no logic in them having tracks and messing anything up. A Quad isn't any wider than 90% of groomed trails. To me the sled converted bike would get boring fast on groomed trails but hey that's just me.
