HA ha! You might not want it if you saw it though. I Blew through what was supposed to be a 50 mph sweeper on the GPS but was ACTUALLY newly rerouted to be a 160 degree cutback and went through a barbedwire fence at about 50-55 mph. Put a nice big crease in the header pipe. Plus a couple of good getoffs since has made that lil jewel of an exhaust not so purdy no more. Still works good though and thats all that matters huh?

Hey Arch you should consider coming to the Ah Chihuahua with us! It's the closest rally to us by a long shot and should be a great adventure! We have a team of three 640 Adv. Rs, one 950 and one 525 confirmed so far with a couple more maybes.

B.T.W where was that pic taken?? Big Bend??

    Cheers Arch,

    Scotty

Sounds like a hoot! Not working these days, so I gotta plan my moves a bit more carefully, though - if ya know what I mean. :): Jules & I are planning some sort of dual-sport excursion for February, probably another Terlingua adventure. Plus, Daytoner's fast approaching and I gotta go out there for some Ducati related stuff. Whee!

It's on Terlingua Ranch property on the west side of 118. Here are a couple more favorite pics from that area, and of course I've already posted 'em about a thousand times. :rofl

Arch, if you are interested the rally begins on (85% SURE) on 5 May from Juarez, Mx. and will finish on 9 May back in Juarez, me thinx, but not really sure about exactly where it will wind up. The fees are very reasonable and all nights will be spent in hotels(granted you finish the days stage in time). The fees for food and fuel are very very reasonable and I am in the process of setting up very reasonable rally support that will include new tires and mousse nightly(changed by mechs.) and use of all tools on the truck as well as spares for replacing broken or worn parts. Any advice you might need will be available to you from KTM Mechanics.
The Off Road Mexico.com site still listed last years rally but I have a buddy down at KTM MX. that is filling me in on the details and helping me set things up.. He is also last years winner and he will be piloting a 660 in this years event (the bastard:splat ) and his brother will be piloting a 950 rally:splat :splat :splat ..
Well Arch, if you think you might want to go with us lemme know and I will shoot you the costs and whatever other info I can think of.

    Cheers buddy!

    Scotty

O ya and an action shot from the Kermit sand dunes in W. Texas.

I wish! New job coming up will require alot of air and out of town time. One day I'd like to go coast to coast using as little asphalt as possible.

    Hey twsiv,

That bike looks awfully familiar! Do I know you from somewhere??

And if not we should hook up for a ride sometime...We are starting to get a BUNCH of DS riders in the DFW area. So many in fact that my partner and I are thinking of starting a DS club!

Anyway twsiv, sweet ride and :freaky ,

Dude, twsiv=Taylor from Dallas, the guy that's highjacked your chain breaker for like 4 months now. :-)

Scotty, I use twsiv as my handle everywhere on the net so that I have some consistancy and don't have to remember who I am when I'm on one site or another. It's also the first part of my email twsiv@yahoo.com and my yahoo IM.

Looking forward to a ride. I've got to get some new tread so I'll be seeing you soon.

BTW- great pics from your sand dune trip. I want to ride like that.

oh and those freakin Sidi flex force boots you sold me are BAD ASS boots, I'm soooooo glad I took your advice and didn't buy the Tech 8.
