For those of you who have not heard of these, the new LifePO4 A123 Systems http://www.a123systems.com/a123/products 26650 batteries are revolutionary for their high power output. [/quote] I looked at the 18650 on the A123 website and compared it with the AA Duracell rechargeable in my flashlight. A123: 1.1Ah Duracell AA:2650 mAh. Am I right in concluding that the AA has over twice the capacity? Does 2650mAh equal 2.6 Ah?

I think you mean your AA is 1.2 Volts at 2650 mAh which would be the same as 2.6 Ah... not sure where your question is leading?
Could you comment on the cold weather performance, ie less than 40degrees F of your batteries? Thanks
They don't put out as much power as a lead acid battery at first, but they self heat after each starting pulse and get stronger after each cranking attempt. I haven't tried starting my bike below 32° but in the range of 35° +/- it took me 3 starting pulses to fire my F650GS. EDIT: It was also at 11,000 feet, so the motor was also gasping for air!
Hmm.. with a smaller battery in place, I could install a centech fuse box next to it and have room to spare.. I'll keep this in mind when I need one.
The batteries I've tested stay cool and don't self heat unless you are trying to crank a dead motor over and over... Since they aren't sealed in a plastic case even a small opening in a battery box should be fine. My battery has been sitting on top of my motor with NO Heatshield too. Across Death Valley in 115° for about 1,100 miles.
I'm keen to get one of your batteries, but I don't think I'll purchase until my current year-and-a-half-old sealed battery goes tits-up. I don't think I've ever WANTED a battery to die before.
Do you sell connector sets separately? I could keep my OEM battery and use the quick connects for both. Thanks
We can do that. If you order off the shopping cart site for the kit you can PM me and paypal me directly for that. Need to add that in as an option.
