I find it odd that the USA has nine region zones here on advrider while Canada only has one. I understand that the americans have a larger population, and that for climate reasons (among others), they have more motorcyclists, but 9:1. That is excessive. We have more land to ride!

I am happy that Canada is one big family here, but I think that it could be beneficial to have perhaps a Canada East, Canada Central, and Canada West.

    Why?

Because I do not want to hear any more about how those bastards in BC are already riding the trails! :rofl

Feel free to add thoughts, comments, and I hope this provoked some thought.

Not enough traffic imo... as in not enough people chatting.

There are often threads here only 1/2 way down the first page and two weeks old.

It was a big step to separate Canada from Alaska on this forum.
Understanding that Canada is a foreign country to the forum owners/operators, and that the education system in the USA gives very limited exposure to anywhere else but the USA as the centre of the universe, it becomes easy to understand. Also, realize that the state of California has a bigger population than the entire country of Canada, and one can understand our place in the world, that we are a member of the G7 by default alone because we are such great people!:lol3

My own view is that it should be left as one. Always nice to see what's up elsewhere in the Great White North without having to switch regions.

Europe is all in one section as well.
I see no need to have several Canada sections. If there is a thread that upsets the OP, just don't read it.

    Ride On! :D

    I agree with SteveG.

We were happy when they stopped putting us in the same forum area as Alaska.

    Agreed...
Also worthy of note.. all things Canada-USA are relative to the 10 to one rule..ie:number of regions, number of riders, number of people.etc...etc....
    One region works for me.:norton

There are a lot a number of Regional Specific Forums too....

    From

    http://www.ridetherock.com (NFLD)

    http://odsc.on.ca/phpBB3/ (Ontario)

    http://www.nsdsc.ca/ (Nova Scotia)

    http://dualsport.ca/Home.aspx (Another Nova Scotia)

    http://www.saskatchewandualsport.com/forum/ (Sask)

    http://albertadualsport.ca/cmps_index.php (Alberta)

    http://www.dualsportbc.com/ (B.C.)

    (There's probably more....)

All of which have exceptionally good 'Local' information.

Having the "Canada Wide" forum here is good, no question there. But for more regional information it's probably better to go and chat with the locals IMHO....

Dont worry Critt, not everyone in BC is riding yet.
Mostly just Kelowna and down on the coast...and only in the afternoon when it warms up a bit....:rofl

The earliest I have ever put the bike on the road here has been March 17...
This year I could have been riding Mid-february. :eek1
But on the flip side, the skiing and sledding sucks!

The first page has threads that haven't been commented on since 2/23. subdividing is the last thing it needs.

I don't want gloat, but (OK yes I DO) we could be riding in the Yukon right now. Hardly any snow or ice on roads & trails are rock solid. Unfortunately the Tenere is in storage in Vegas, WR250R will have to do:rofl

At first I liked this idea but I realized it should be divided up just like Canada is in real life. There is Canada and the french. If the french had their own forum we could ignore them and they would not be a pestilence on the Canada forum :clap

Good point,we need 3 regions,West, french canadian, and east. I would love to see eastern Canada on a motorcycle for a whole summer. That would be a once in a life time trip. When I go in my region I want to read about places that I can get too in 3-4 days max. It would save on sifting through all the places I don't plan on riding yet.:D
