990 plactic tank protectors on a 950 ?

    Anybody has some advise on how to install 990 plastic tank protectors on a 950 ?

    Chop off and grind flat (on the inside) the center mount stud.

    Can silicon be used to glue them to the tank?

    You could I suppose, but they bolt on, two at top and one at bottom, right (making sure we're talking about the same guards...)?

    Yeah I used a couple of self adhesive velcro strips on the tank and covers.
    I also put a rubber gromit in the hole at the back. You wouldn't pick it as a modified part.

    Here's my finished installation.

    You will need longer screws for the bottom attachment points on the upper fairing. (16 mm screw, Part #0984060163)

    Now I just have to stow away the vent line :lol3.
