In my experience, all US sports commentators do this and/or dumb everything down. I have never found a single US commentator worth watching/listening to, they all suck.

First time I watched the Tour of California, I had to turn the volume way down

The commentary was distracting and aimed at someone who knows nothing about cycling or cycling races. Maybe that is what the numbers tell them to do?

May be a stupid question but why does it appear that one rider on opqs appear to be on an orange bike?

Commercials cut into a lot of the action today.

That's where the 15 dollar iPad app makes the price worth it for me.

I can use air play and watch it on my TV.

It works on both my phone and iPad to boot.

No affiliation with NBC, Apple etc etc........

Very cool of Team Orica Greenedge today.

Cavendish is a beast; did you see him jump that curb when working his way back into the peloton?

put something on and stay in that position.
I did. But I also saw him take fourth in the sprint. Very happy for Andre Greipel.

How about that South African? Good times.

I wonder if Nicholas Roche will ever put himself together to be a challenger? That would be lovely.

Had Cav not taken the duster, I believe he would have handed Greipel his ass on a platter. He was working his ass off to catch back up to the peloton. They were hauling at 50+kph.

All the news is making such a big stir over Impey being the first "African" to wear the Maillot Jaune... really???:lol3

I would just like to say, that with 4km to go, the Cannondale riders showed some mad skills to not bin it through the corner. WOW! :eek1

Anybody know what the total elevation climb was on today's stage? It's the one stat that strava got me hooked on that they never give in the TV coverage. Looked to be a massive day.

    Tweet from Cameron Meyer,Orica Greenedge

@cammeyercyclist: 4000m climbing in 130km today was not so fun. Fireworks from start to finish. Rest day. Can't wait.

So a bit over 12,000 ft. today.

I haven't been following the tour very closely this year. When I looked at the GC on line this morning, man was I surprised.

yesterday's stage was some phenomenal racing by Froome and all of his contenders! Exceptional strategy by Movistar and Saxo... looks like they will have to work a bit harder.
