good one! oh yeah, for the seat guy-I regularly do 1000 km days on my Renazco. If you plan on touring etc go with vinyl rather than suede. I have vinyl on the 640 and suede for the 525
I believe that is the nicest looking 640 I have seen so far. Makes mine look like an abused KLR Love the Snoopy!
Thanks all for the great response on the Seat issue. I will definitely be looking into renazco.com this winter for a new seat. Much appreciated!
Put your order in tomorrow for Renazco! If your fortunate, you MIGHT get your new seat by March. That is why I bought a cheap used seat off of eBay. You can still ride while you wait for your build date. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
pulled the trigger and picked up this 2007 640A with only 1250km on it. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone here and contributing where I can.
New to me 2000 640A with 3500 miles on it. I hated the range of my TE449 and decided it wasn't what I needed in a dual sport. The 640 is exactly what I wanted.
Nice bike,i had a 99 adv that was the same, had wp 50mm conventional forks oem so bit different fork wise, was a great bike that gave zero issues ,ride and enjoy!
Looking for advise -- I'm having issues with my head lights (2000 640 ADV) Both stopped working, fuse is ok but i suspect there is a short somewhere. I'm pretty handy with repairs but when it comes to electric systems I'm about as dumb as a blond cheerleader and so far I have not found the source of the problem. Would it be logical to buy a complete wiring harness? any other ideas?
That's what a blonde cheerleader would do. Get a multimeter, a wiring diagram, and take an hour to trace the fault. You don't need to be a "Rocket Doctor".
Emmbeedee is right, not that I have any idea what he's up to on the 640A thread But yes, multi meter and start checking continuity in all of the wires from the lights and switches according to the wiring diagram in the owners manual. I don't remember what the wee ground wire under the right side panel affects but have a look at that too
