I used to love the Ozark Cafe until I learned of their business practices from some of their food vendors; seems that they refuse to buy from anyone who sells to any other dining place in the area, run a lot of competition out of business. Check out the walls and ceiling of the second room next time you're in there, adorned with all of the signs of restaurants that have closed in the area, almost like a trophy room

I grew up on the farm and had ponies for while then horses. They can be habit forming that I know. Some of my most enjoyable days were riding, and working cattle. I miss those days and all the riding that was necessary to take care of cattle. Maybe some day I will buy another horse, would have one in a heart beat but they need to be taken care of everyday. Maybe I will go sit in my old saddle in the garage, and dream.

Emulators? Is that a fancy word for a re-valve in the forks? Have you done fork springs already? I need to stiffen up the forks on mine, they are way too soft.....that or buy a WR250.:D I plan to ride one this weekend if someone will let me borrow one for a min.

Did I hear you say you're riding the 450 at SLAP?

Emulaors are more then jut a re-valve, they make a damping rod fork work (emulate) like a cartridge fork. They give you a lot more tuneability. I've got Eilbach springs front and rear, they help a lot.

Yup, planning on taking the 450 if I make it to SLAP. I may end up bailing if the weather in NC improves. I got some dates confused and I had committed to a week long DS trip over in NC/TN/SC. For some reason I thought it was next week. :huh Making the go/no go call tomorrow.

Sweet I'll look that stuff up. The forks def need some compression damping. I thought I could live with the stock exhaust but man it's too quiet, it's hard to tell what the engine is doing. The guy I bought it from gave me a can off a GSXR and said that was the hot setup for DR's, but you have to buy a midpipe from a guy that builds them. I dont recall how much that midpipe was but it was pricey, may as well just buy a new slip on.

    Tree hugger.........:D

I didnt say I wanted it Harley loud, just a hint of exhaust noise would be nice. I'm not one of those fancy boys that ride with my ipod and earplugs, I like to hear my engine running.

On another note the wifes XT has a great exhaust note with the factory can.

I hug my piles of firewood, not the trees.

    :D

I cant imagine a bike being so quiet you cant hear it enough to know what the engine is doing?

    do you have hearing problems?

just run a vacuum hose from the carb inlet into your ear, you will learn pretty quickly how to tell what the engine is doing.

    :rofl

I drilled the baffles out of the exhaust on the xt I had, I regretted that afterwards BIG time. it never ran as good as it did before,( even after several rejet attempts) and it was annoyingly loud.
