If you stuff a foam earplug into the battery compartment it will stop that happening. The same thing happens in the Montana and my Spot unit.

You won't be sorry. Very few old 60 users ever want to switch but 76/78 users never have a reason, they love them.

The 4-pin round was the reason I went with the 78.
There's other reasons I couldn't deal with the 78, but the 76 is mechanically the same with the same I/O's.

I hear you. A mash-up of the best of the 76 and 78 (as chosen by the users) would be ideal. I have both and each has features that are lacking in the other.

I love 78 as second unit (on occasion) with 50 Tracks showing but using my 76 for main unit navigating and saving Tracks.
