    Hi all,

I'm heading out to Greenridge soon and, looking at the GPS tracks, I can spot a couple of creek crossings on the dirt roads. I'm still new at off road and I'm not really confident yet when I'm crossing water. Does anyone know/recall how deep these were, currents, etc? Thanks!

(P.S. With thanks to Rob23 for sharing these routes)

The green ridge 18 mile off road loop was closed several years ago. I haven't been out there since they closed. I don't remember any other water crossings?

Thanks for the feedback. I just rode these and there were a handful of streams, that's all. Couldn't quite tell from Google earth. Very passable.

I rode through green ridge today and went through a couple small crossings on fifteen mile creek road.

Must've missed one another, I was there as well! I rode OP's Short and Long loops (28 and 66mi, I think).

Dunno what your experience was like, but my ride on the short loop ended very quickly. A mile or so south of the starting point, on Carroll road, the ground looked like it was shelled by heavy artillery. I suppose I could've woven on the flat areas between the pits but I was alone and figured the way back down would be even trickier, it would be like riding on a tightrope. So I admitted defeat :cry

I'll be going back to GR for sure. But parts of it were slightly more technical than I expected.

Were you on 68 riding a gs with cases? If so I passed you while you were getting off an exit or two before 15 mile creek road. I was on a white gs adv with my girlfriend.

Shoot me a message next time your going and I'll try to meet up!

Awesome, it looked good! I hope to pick up cases for mine soon.

It wasn't nearly as clean leaving green ridge as it was when it showed up!

You probably already know this, but avoid the OEM cases like the plague. I've made a hobby out of repairing them after every adventure trip.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm looking at cases now but I'm leaning towards going with black instead of silver.

There's a more serious water crossing at Town Creek, that you can only do late summer when the water is low. Very fun. If you're back out that way give me a heads up and maybe we can meet up and ride. I'm between Paw Paw, WV and Berkeley Springs, WV.

The GPS tracks posted are all fire roads through Greenridge suitable for dual sport bikes? Looking to head out for a ride sometime and thought this would be a good day trip.

This is true. I drowned my bike trying to cross it years ago.
