Wow, great news about Mark Miller.
there hav been some news that the "old" Touaregs, were being tested under a reshaped Bently body (Future Bentley SUV) by x WRC champion Juha Kankkunen.

I would tend to think if bentleygoes on, it will be 2014, but who knows..........
Is this somehow related to Mark Miller???

Rubby wont pay Mark to drive and Mark wont pay Rubby to drive. Rubby uses the 2nd Hummer as a cash cow to help pay for his effort. Rubby is there for Rubby to win the Dakar, not for his 2nd vehicle to win the Dakar.

Mark's contract with VeeDub is over and done with both with Dakar and Baja. VeeDub owns Bently, nuff said.

Ryan Arciero has the Baja Race Touareg (minus the engine) and has been in talks to campaign it with a different mfgr's power plant. So it may be seen in Baja again with some other style body on it (hopefully).

The Baja Race Touareg NOT the right vehicle for ASO's Dakar rallys.

"Rubby" would be wise to pay Mark to drive to help him get to the top of the podium :nod

Wether or not that is something Mr Miller would want to do is unknown to me but having a solid driver like Mark on the team would be beneficial I would think. It also doesn't hurt that he is the only American with the needed experience to be able to keep up with Robby and be of assistance in a timely manner and should Robby DNF have the chance to podium himself.

Fingers crossed for the inmates who applied (esceptialy Jenny after being denied a chance last year :deal )

    awwww... shucks... :cry

Hope it get a new donk and a paintjob for the SCORE races then... lot of potential there... and the biodiesel aspect was an interesting/marketable aspect.

On that note... I wonder if there are any MOTO entries slated for 2013 that are going to run alternative fuels, or energy sources.

A bio diesel bike... or an electric moto perhaps (they had the first electric auto entry last year)... someone will have a gimmic they want to push/promote via the Dakar wheeelbarrow... surely? :evil

there is talk of Luis Belaustegui running an electric bike... also I wonder why not more diesel powered cars/trucks have been entered in all racing

Now that would be something special, entering Dakar on a diesel bike! Incredible torque, great fuel range, but cumbersome and heavy..theres a company in the UK that are developing a round-the-world style bike, based around the Smart car diesel unit...last i saw it was a bit Frankenbike looking, but how awesome would it be if someone was prepared to develop something suitable and give it a go!

Do any of you guys know of any 450 powerplants out there that could be used instead of an 800cc TDi unit?! Wonder if Dakar would allow the 800cc engine, just because it's a diesel?! Could open up a whole new side to the rally!
