<article> I rode on Saturday April 13 of this year, from Los Angeles to San Diego, into Tijuana, then east to Tecate for lunch. Then on to Mexicali for USA reentry and the night in El Centro. Tijuana has a new system, you stop when entering Mexico. Then a gate lifted, and I rode on. They did search some. That's new. I made this trip last year. Only last year my fuel pressure controller went out at La Rumorosa, at the overlook. I had to get trailered into Mexicali and on Sunday a BMW rider from Huntington Beach rode 220 miles down to Mexicali to give me his spare controller. The photos are the spot I broke down last year. Two Mexicans came with a trailer and toted the bike into Mexicali. I just got back on Monday, last year, instead of Sunday. But this year, no problem whatsoever. Just a nice ride. The next day was Julian, Hemet and Los Angeles. dc </article>
I love quick day/overnight rides along the border. Any additional pics? Where in Tecate was lunch?:dg Many good options in that town; I sometimes ride the curvy three hours from my place just to eat in Tecate. The Tecate brewery tour is worthwhile, too - free beer!
