Honda Shadow 750 RS

I had my mind (mostly) made up to get a Super Low sportie and add some bigger shocks, etc. but I found myself going back and forth between it and the Shadow RS. I don't think I would have gone wrong either way but in the end I went with the Shadow.

Yeah, I know (most) all the negatives... plastic, chain final drive etc., but the bike is ready to go right from the start.

While the small tank first turned me off, I realized that there are things that are negative and things that I just perceive as negative. The eetsy beetsy tank on my tdub was never an issue so how would this be? I have a short commute and run around on the weekend, no biggie...

Lastly, I had a nightster and a Shadow Aero at one time and this is kinda melding the two together which is kinda cool. For a wannabe it seems to have a bit of character (yeah I said it) and I dig it.

Very cool. Seems like it has good power as well. Do you plan on adding anything to it? Or just keep it as a short distance commuter?

its actually a sparkle dark grey (not sure what they call it but thats what it looks like).

The bike really sounds great stock so I'm not swappin any pipes. They have a backrest and luggage rack but I've gotta see it on another bike before I spend the money. Usually just use a backpack any more since I also use it at work, but I wouldn't mind a rack to put some things on.

Like a rear disk, it works just fine as long as you use the front one with it

On that bike a drum rear is adequate and it looks cool. It is less pron to lock-up, kind of like ABS when used with-in its limits.

So what year is it & how much you pay ?

MSRP is $7800, paid a bit less than that + tax title license...well actually paid some and financed the rest w/ American Honda. Local Harley dealership wasn't eager to budge off MSRP and that was another consideration plus the financing was more.

I'm contemplating an RC or an 883?.....the tubed tires on the RC kinda bug me though.I like the look of the RC and it has more ground clearence that the 883....liquid cooled vs air cooled?....Hmmmm.How does it feel at highway speed?...65--70 mph(I know it's new so you may not know this yet?). Does it have hydraulic valves like the 883?. TIA

It may be a Sportster wanna-be, but I like it. (I've always liked the Sportster also.) It seems to be a good option for people who don't care the spend the extra $$ for the Harley.

Now, I'm just waiting for someone to trick one out like an XR1200...

I like this bike. Pretty good lucks, kind of a retro vibe but still with the liquid cooling right? Doesn't seem like a real roadburner, but that's not really necessary. How does it cruise around 70mph?

It should respond VERY well to an aftermarket exhaust and a PowerCommander (when available) - just those mods (properly done) really wake those bikes up.

In the 8000 dollar cruiser market, I would head to Guzzi V7 Classic or Bonneville SE, personally, but that is one sharp bike.
