Anyone know a nice route from Munich to Zurich? It's a three hour ride going direct but I have all day next Tuesday. Give me your best recommendation for a six hour ride.
Very true. My summer riding plans are slowly being decimated by work but next week I'm on the bike; UK to Munich Sat/Sun, Munich to Zurich Tue, Zurich to Bar-le-Duc via Nancy to catch the Tour de France Fri, B-l-D to Gent for the motocross Sat/Sun and home again Sunday evening.
Too hectic for me, mate....tried a few options/ideas via Google Maps but still only get 90+% main roads with the occasional Autobahn bit to make up time (accounting for 30mins for short breaks and fuel-ups etc.).
Head for Glaurus in Switzerland and take the road along the Klontallersee and over the Pragel Pass (west ramp tight and steep - but not nasty) and into Schwyz. Head to Zurich overland via Morgarten and the Agen See.
5 c and raining here in Stuben am Arlberg, ugh. Will spend today in the sauna, not on the roadway........ Paul
Hey Paul...get outta the tub and roll south, mate Punch through the barrier at Bozen and stick to the south of the main ridge for the next few days... looking fairly decent, as usual. http://www.wetter.com/wetter_aktuell/wettervorhersage/7_tagesvorhersage/?id=IT0TA0005
Exactly.... But better weather here in the Alps is now uncertain. Only the Iberian peninsula looks like a sure bet for now. I've got 5+ weeks remaining, no need to run in search for a few rays of sunshine, besides, I'm enjoying my stay at the Arlberg Sporthotel. Paul
