    :stupid

Cold blooded, low speed surge, popping on decel just to name a few that slapping a richer mix in makes me a happier camper. If lovin' Daves Mod is wrong, I don't wanna be right!

My stock XRL was awful, overheated, throttle response was slow, hard starting especially cold, iratic idle. Dave mods cured all those issues. That is why I did them.

We have some video but it probably won't be ready until well after this week. Here's a teaser though.

I hav'nt done Dave's mod but I had to rejet due to the above problems ..

Only performance mod is one of the muffler cleanout plates is off. I make up for it by running a dirty oem air filter with 10,000 miles on it :)

I want to ride your bike with that bug smasher installed. I ditched my windshield this week just doesn't work with my particular helmet.

I get the first one but the second one? Is he trying to shake off a clinger? :huh

hahaha. So many of us are wrong on so many levels.

Why do you still have that retarded, ugly ass, stupid rear light?

    Looks like fun though! :D

Because that's how honda intended it. And there is only one way. The honda way.

I blacked out for a second. Meant to say, because I haven't found anything that properly compares in visibility. I personally have a great phobia of being hit from the rear. It the only direction I can't control dangers. Unless I stay on the couch.

Hahaha. "The Honda Way." I can see a salesman from the 70s, like Madmen, in a suit and tie saying that reassuringly. :rofl

Yeah my rear light does suck in the day light. I use it as an excuse to ride faster. :freaky I think I am going to start experimenting with some superbright LEDs and a CRF rear fender.

    Tell me more!

How did you wire it up?

Where did you get the LEDs?

See the link in my signature block. That thread has part links, schematics, and lots of pictures for what I did. It's performed great for the last couple years. Cages seem to leave a bit extra room when I pull the brake lever compared to before.

Of course, here in Belgium I don't sit in traffic all that much so keeping the drivers behind me awake is less of an issue, since motos are the sacred cow over here. Folks pull to the side of the lane to make room on backroads, it's ok to go at a reasonable rate between the left two lanes on the highway when traffic's stopped, you never wait in line at a train crossing - you're expected to use the wrong side of the road to pass all the cars and pull right up to the train barrier, etc. I wish folks back home noticed cycles as much as they do over here. Even a little 25cc scooter is given space. :clap
My LED solution isn't the cheapest option, but I'm super happy with it. I'll definitely retrofit my next ride with something similar... the XRL's not going anywhere, but SWMBO has signed off on a more street oriented addition (as long as she gets something shiny from Antwerp...)

I just ordered and installed some of these:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G1YF068/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So far I am pretty impressed. My XR600 has the small taillight and was murder on standard filament bulbs, so I wanted an LED to solve that issue. These appear to be brighter than the standard bulbs so I am very pleased. Plus, you get two bulbs in the package, so I installed the other one in my XRL TV set.

Thanks, that clearned up more, still little confusing with the different generations, its easy to mistake one,and I would like to buy one(!) I didn't know Keihin would allow different manufactures to get them in slightly other designs etc. (if that sentence made sence..).
    Thanks
