I have a question on the swaybar, perhaps better directed to Claude. Are the arm lengths equal, and the attachment points equidistant from the axle center on each wheel, or can the preload be adjusted to create a 'balance' in the actual travel? Additionally, will camber adjustment affect the swaybar settings?
Yes Claude has the real handle, but arms are equal length, they are attached buy multiple hiem joints so I don't believe they affect camber.Since you have a Hannigan chair I don't believe theirs has equal length arms, I don't know as mine is equal length to wheel centerlines, Good reading here http://www.hpsidecar.com/sidecararticles/sidecararticles.html DB
i have drawn up a body but im not sure what im doing yet i started with a 24 inch wide car im down to 22 inches the length is stock ural 70 something
You got me sorta measuring 76" long 23"wide big box trunk,seat 22" at cockpit opening , Ural like nose 18" at narrowest.I guess you got to figure how you'll use it.Will wife,children or dog go along? Are you going camping ? MInes way bigger than I needed but I liked the idea of being able to haul allot of stuff. If you are planning on a swaybar for a hannigan it is a little different deal than what has been pictured here. We have done ouur swaybars on them and have used hannigan's type also. Our swaybar on a hannigan requires the sidecar body to be jacked up or have the swaybar run through the body. The arms do not have to be equal. The arm position (angle of the arm) is crtical as is the placement of the heim end linkcage. This is more critical with a rea rmount swaybar...and then things do change a little more on a hannigan as they do not use a front pivot swingarm on the sidecar except for their high performance sidecars. Lots of variables need to be addressed. Feel free to call me if you wish,
Zipper Since they are actually not differentials the bmw folk call them final drives, any r850r oilheads will work but there's lots to consider.Doe's your bike have ABS ? If so you'll need a ABS final drive or remove your ABS which isn't that hard. The 850 used a 37/11 there are some early 1100rs that had 34/11 all the r1100gs and r had 33/11(gears stamped in top by the breather) anything is a step in the right direction. If your not going to the mountains or around the world and your easy on clutches you may not need the 37/11, they are a pain to shim if one buys the gears and builds one. Zipper We've grown accustomed to pretty nice work, but that's really a standout! Only one question is that bar solid ? Who did you consult on how much bar is enough ?DB I think you owe yourself a present a liquid cooled torch and a cooler or something !
thanks dave google miller syncrowave 350 o its liquid cooled the lights in the neighborhood go dim and all the tvs go black when i fire up my welder
