Its a good idea to install a Datel Volt Meter to serve as an early warning system. My 06 DL1000 stopped charging due to the following:

Burnt the stator a bit too:

    Waiting on parts :cry

But, it should put out more stable voltage readings with a new OEM rotor, new OEM stator and a new series R/R. The magnets shifted a bit, the bike has around 33,000 miles on it. Thinking about putting JB Weld original formula between the magnet ends for more strength... Stupid design Suzuki!

Some folks have JB welded the magnets back in place.

If I can fix it with JB, it will be my back up rotor. If the magnents were easy to remove I would have tried it without heat, but I don't want to pry hard and break one into pieces. I would rather wait on the removal tool and see if I can gently remove the magnets that shifted after some time in the oven. I have a trip planned too, so I didn't want to take a chance on a JB fix going south, new rotor is on the way. I need the bike running in about 10 days. Maybe that will happen, the part is supposedly in stock.

From experience, I can tell you two things.

    1) Be VERY CAREFUL about the orientation of the magnets when you JB them back on.

    2) If your new flywheel only has 5 magnets, you are outta luck (unless yours is a 2002).

Magnets put in place with JB Weld will outlast the life of your engine. Seriously.
