I was wondering how many miles other peoples bikes were getting when the fuel light comes on with the stock tank. Please list any mods that improved fuel economy other than to straighten your right wrist, Thanks, Bruce
Depends on where I'm riding - On the road (mostly sticking to speed limits) is best - I get 120 to 130 miles before the light comes on - have been up to 150 miles on a tank without running out. Dirt riding varies, but usually around 90 miles till the light comes on. I did a track day a while ago and got 48miles before the light came on :eek1 Have never kept a track of fuel economy before / after mods - My mods include some cheap cans, an H2W jet kit, de-SASed, Pre filter and DNA air filter
Street mine comes on at 92 miles + - a few tenths...every time, Dirt 70ish, kinda depends on how I'm riding.
Jetting and adjusting the floats can help with mpg. The other and probably biggest factor is your right wrist. :)
Max 2 is obviously too rich.... I get around 100 to 110 during highway at 80 to 90mph average. Dropping down to 70mph average, closer to 120 , 125. In the dirt, 80 to 90 avg. Today i nursed the tank for 120 before the light came on, which is the longest ive done. Whats the max you people have gotten AFTERthe light came on? Im at 31 so far.......and counting:eek1
Iye, 90-110, average, seen 130 before sat in that sweet spot around 62 ish mph on the slab. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
Same(ish) as you Charley264, 90-100 miles to light. I once saw 120 but that was because i was following my mate on his 450 for 2 hours at 60mph! The most i've risked riding with fuel light on was 25 miles, I didn't dare pass another petrol station!
