Hy I´m currently sitting in my hotel room in Sydney preparing for a trip around australia. and altough i have my macbook with me, i don´t want to take it round the continent on my bike. so i was thinking of buying a small gps unit, like the garmin gps60something and some maps. paper maps, not the electronic ones. back in my homecountry i had to do a military service, where i learnd a lot about reading maps and stuff (i was an artillery observer or scout, don´t know the english name...), so map reading would not be a big thing i hope. I´m thinking of making a track on the paper map, reading out the coordinates and typing them in into the gps. is that posible? i´m sure it is. and can anyone give me some tips about good maps for that kind of stuff, like military maps, and where to buy? cheers seppo
