I just picked up a trials bike I intend to mostly use for trail riding. None of my other ride buddies have one so I'd like to learn a thing or two from someone more familiar than I.

PM me if you'd like to get out for a rip. I live in Bellingham but not opposed to driving.

    FWIW I like IPA :dutch

Lucky you.......I think there is a club in your area and should not be a problem finding others to ride with. A coach/mentor will make all the difference. I think there are only 4-5 of us in SW Idaho....not even enough to have a club. Let alone any kind of events.

The first few rides were really disappointing and not fun for me....took about 4-5 rides before I got good enough to start having fun. Now I'm hooked and ride every Sunday. :clap

Have a look at the trials thread here http://www.advrider.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=73

If you are ever in the Boise area shoot me an email and let's go for a ride. :deal

I'm new to trials riding, having just bought mine last spring...I'm in the Burlington area.

I use it mostly for trail riding after work at Walker Valley. I'm always up for someone to ride with, when work doesn't get in the way.

If you're neighbors aren't too uppity, there is a ton of learning and fun to be had just riding around your driveway or backyard.

First tip--get a comfortable pack and a few MSR fuel bottles.
    You'll need 'em!

Are any of you going to the Trial at the Isle today?

I will be there with my son who will be riding in his 2nd event. Look for a black VW Eurovan with a tiny bike on the back. We will be on the 8am Mukilteo to Clinton ferry.

    More info.

Dang, this is "just down the street" so to speak. I wish I had known earlier, yada, yada, yada.
    Good luck Mike's kid!

We are waiting for the kids to run. Looks like only 2 here today.

He has been bombing around and already killed his first set of batteries.

MM I wish I would have know that was you today. I would have introduced myself as an inmate. I was the tall guy in the mtb helmet.

bscman; I'll try and give you a heads up next time I ride WV. We just rode out there this past Saturday. It was a blast! Sometimes I feel like I'm cheating. Starting to feel good about my purchase. At first I was worried I got into something I'd never enjoy but after my 3rd ride I'm starting to get a feel for how this bike likes (NEEDS) to be ridden; and that involves lots of clutch work.

I ride Teanaway once the snow melts. Trials bikes are very much at home there.
