The "kids" left here. (prior to them arriving) I remember trying to explain to Esben in several PM's that he was crazy thinking he could ride 2 400cc bike's for 6 months:huh (with full gear.) I'm beginning to think I under estimated M&M's determination Esben, where you gonna be in Jan? (the imamagination Police having been asking) Oh yeah, enjoy the end of daylite savings. $65 bucks for camping is nuts, get a room homme:eek1
Happy Halloween in Oakland, People! Other ADV'rs, If you are in the area and you want to come, PM me. Suz.
Looks like Crab Cioppino! [pronounced sha-peen-o] Good stuff. Dunno if that crab was fresh tho... if you haven't experienced fresh Dungeness crab, you really need come back... worth a trip halfway around the world. I think Crab season in San Francisco starts Nov 1 so you may get your chance. >todays special was "stuff is red soup". Tasted really good..
That photo is sooooo worth repeating. Yummmmm! Yum Yum!!! Many many fantastic photos here in this thread.
Ha Ha! I had a really nice time with the both of you. Considering many members were out riding or sick, it wasn't too bad of a turn out. Glad you enjoyed the history and the people. I really think the both of you should have won first place. Your costuimes were just fantastic. Took this picture today up on Skyline Drive. Lots of leather and fancy farings on the road today. Also a lot of deer at dusk. <iframe title ="Preview" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" frameborder="0" style="width:320px;height:240px;padding:0;background-color:#fcfcfc;" src="http://cid-b363fb15d1176d5f.skydrive.live.com/embedphoto.aspx/09^J%20Oct^J%20Oakland%20Hills/IMG^_1604.JPG"></iframe> And now off to your next adventure! Staying tuned to see what that is... Suz
Still loving your adventures! Your photos seem to be getting better and better. You guys have already seen more of America than most Americans ever will.
I remember this guy from when I was in SF, what do you think of Alcatraz? And your still eating sushi,, any more singing sushi chefs?? Great report,
Hi M&M. Superb ride and superb thread with all the updates & pics! You are good ambassadors for Scandinavia
Bush Man! He's been there for at least ten years. I think it's the same guy too. He foiled me once and never again. There are some great geocaches in that area. At the crooked street, Lombard Street, there is a cache magnet on the do not enter sign at that corner. It's a microcache film strip container. Yeah. I've been waiting for you guys to post about the quads. Oh what fun! OK What's next???????????????? Wow! Suz
Thanks for putting together such an entertaining RR. I just found out about it a couple of days ago when visiting with Mistress-of-the-Dual down in Ramona, and just got caught up to date. Keep up the good work! P.S. I too am riding a DRZ 400, and if you're looking into a cheap and easy way to make the seat more comfortable (as well as an ingenious way to carry extra water), look into getting a set of Sweet Cheeks! Here's the link.
You might consider first heading northeast on your trip down south. Take Hwy 88 over the Serria's to Hwy 89 and make a loop around Lake Tahoe. Then south on 395 stopping at Bodie Ghost Town. Continue south past Mono Lake, then just south of Lee Vining turn west on Hwy 120 and go up to the Tioga Pass summit for a great view and then turn around and return back down to 395. Continue south on 395 and take the June Lake Scenic Loop. You are at the east side of Yosemite NP. . Continuing south on 395 will take you to Death Valley. Hotel, cabin and campground accomodations are available at Furnace Creek. Groceries, resturants and fuel also available. Titus Canyon, Ubehebe Crater, The Racetrack and Scottys Castle are just a few of the great places to visit. Las Vegas is just over the hill. Should you decide to go this route I am in Lockeford on Hwy 88 at the base of the Serria Foothills and have a spare room and camping area and might be able to guide you on some backroads up the hill. Enjoying your RR, Keep it going. For places to stay and help on the road consult the ADV Tent Space List. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=310941
When/if you are heading to/near Vegas, don't forget to give me a PM. Got some crash space for you if you need it too. (don't know it I will have a dirt bike running before next week though.)
