    On Oct 1, 2012 I left Thailand and flew to Chicago where the V-Strom I bought on E-Bay was parked at a friends house. Now back in Thailand I am sifting through thousands of pix and video clips and editing the footage of the trip. Instead of one long story it makes more sense to post the segments when ready. Here's part 1:

    The Air Museum was a real worthwhile diversion. Very interesting and a great bunch of old veterans. They understandably still have so much pride in what was America at its best.

    Hey, your mechanic in Chicago/Riverside,IL is my neighbor, Kenny!
    (Part1 video 1:20-1:40)

    I really enjoy your editing of the still pix with video and music. The still "paprazzi" shots do such a fine job communicating the local "day-in-the-life" culture.

    Godspeed!

    Kenny did a fine job going over the bike and getting it ready. I only had one issue. That was a burned out headlight. Unfortunately I only realized this too late while having to ride 2 hours in the dark outside Panama City.

    Spent one week taking a Spanish immersion course. We did learn a bit but 1 week is really not enough. Our vocabulary with locals on any given topic was therefore unfortunately always quickly exhausted. Fluency in Spanish would have been a big plus. Here's part 10:

    Having left the ruins of Palenque behind, I rode north to Merida where I spent 2 days. Just outside the town of Celestun, 50 miles east of Merida, is a bird sanctuary , which houses 30,000 noisy flamingo's from Nov. to Feb. One of the highlights of the trip;
