Stock bars with monster 65mm risers. Screen is Touratech's Desierto 3 fairing.

I'm in the same boat at GB here.

2006 GS. I put the Hepco Becker engine guards and tank guards.

I've got bar risers and I also put the Ohlins suspension for a 1200 GS Adventure on it ( I wanted to raise the bike 2").

I also put the GS Adventure rear rack (prolly the best upgrade). That way I can mount my Jesse Top box and not worry about plastic breaking.

But I wanted to keep the smaller tank and alloy rims.

I'm sure at some point, I'll upgrade the tank to the ADV tank....

Mine is slightly adventurized. Has the upper tank guards and the beak extender. The bigger tank would be nice, but I don't want to spend the money to add it.

The GS does not come with engine or tank guards, the Adventure does.

But I wanted them for 3 reasons.

    # 2. The upper guards help protect this: Your fuel inlet.

    # 3. The uppers are also a great place to install lights.

Its probably easier to get a lowwer seat and tweak the suspension than it is to turn a GS into a GSA

Not really an adventure lookalike but mine finished looking like this as I was trying to make it a better bike for light trails...well in terms of farkles. HAven't cgamnged anything like suspension. Been used a bit since so a little worse for wear

So the centre stand and sidestand are original, in the photo the bike sits with both wheels on the floor when on the centre stand, as opposed to the rear being clear by two inches (and I guess the bike is easier to put on the stand?) How is the angle when on the side stand? (got a picture?) I'm doing a similar mod this month and am thinking of extending the sidestand, necessary or not?

Same thing with kktos, I cannot quite make it out from this angle, standard sidestand and raised shocks?....

I added the TT head guards after this ride. I went down in a rock garden and banged up my cylinder head pretty good.
