I had a ZR7S and it got great gas mileage and easily over 200 mile range but buzzzzzzzzzzzzed in the handlebars and everywhere else at highway speed. Sold it.

My Super Tenere will always get 240 miles on a tank as long as you stay off the freeways. Above 70 mph the fuel mileage drops like a rock.

I thought its not available in the US?

Do you get a decent range when on "highway speeds"?

2005-2006, Z750S were available in the US. They have a 200 miles range, but only with an aftermarket seat ;-) They didn't sell as well as the FZ6 but address the FZ6's biggest weakness which is a high strung motor. The rest of the package is not as good as the FZ6 (I had a 2008 FZ6 in the past and it was a great bike)

BTW, the Monster 696 has a whopping 3.8 gallon fuel tank :-) That is the largest fuel tank available on any of the Monsters (ABS have a 3.6g tank). That being said, I was able to get 185 miles out of it once with an average MPG of about 58mpg of mostly highway driving.

My 2007 VFR VTEC has a 5.8g tank and I can easily get above 200 miles touring, usually about 240 miles if it is mostly highway.

Impressive mileage for the VFR. I ask for range as i commute 110 miles daily, so fueling up every day gets to be a PITA.

My Road Glide does about 250 to the warning light. It has a greater range then I do these days.

The K1600 series has a 7 gallon tank ( no, the GT doesn't have a smaller tank like the magazines reported..) and gets remarkable fuel economy, all things considered.

I just rode home from Elkins, WV to north of Lancaster PA and am still showing about 40 miles of range. It was 299 miles, start to stop travelling the "fun way" not hypermiling down the slab. I could probably do much better if I wasn't so fond of using the loud handle :D

JUst a little longer than mine. I'm happy with my current solution, but always looking around, and appreciate this thread.

Wow, what a difference from the barely used 2010 Stelvio I looked at just before buying my Versys. I think its range was about 150 miles. If I bought it I was planning to buy an aux tank.

Seemed like an awesome bike for touring, but most of my riding was commuting, and it was a bit wide for that.

The R1200R easily gets 220 miles from a tank.

I've been curious to see what people report for sports tourers like R1200RT, ST1300, Concours 14 etc.

Not exactly a road warrior, but the R1200GSA probably has the largest stock tank of any bikes. Rated at 33L, I'm putting more like 36-38L in, with no mods, but filling right up to the neck and riding away immediately. 400 miles is quite doable, highest I've had was 750km, very economical run and had a little left in the tank (but into reserve). Makes it about 466 miles.

My 97 Conc has a 7.5 gal tank, like the rest of the old ones. I usually fill up round ~280 miles while droning down the slab at ~75-90 mph.

Damn, I could never get that far on my GSA. It's mileage usually stayed in the upper 30's so at 300 miles I was usually looking for fuel. I never ran it out of gas but several times it took 9.3 gallons to completely fill the pig.

The Superhawk is totally the "distance" bike you want. Mine managed to squeeze 84 miles out of the last 3.5 gallon tank :huh.

R1200 RT 2012 vintage. At 100 mph indicated my RT board computer shows 36 mpg. That will get you about 210 miles on 6.4 US gallons. Normal fuel consumption (80 mph) nets about 42 mpg. That is a little over 250 miles a tank without the light coming on. That is 2 up fully loaded.

    SuperHawks aren't known for range...

On a ride a few years ago, we gassed-up in Blanding Utah and rode North on UT-95.

Our friend on the SuperHawk coasted the last mile into the gas station at Hanksville.

    126 miles.

Those literbike V-twins are all known to suck fuel like a crack ho on the pipe.
Superhawks, RC51's, TLR's...all that I've ridden with have had sub-30mpg, and the small tanks don't help.
