Don't remember the crash, knocked cold once again, but I was on (well, sort of on or maybe under or next to) my 525 and dropped off what's affectionately known as the "wall of death" by my buddies house. Must have clicked off a rock badly or something like that, and lights out. Luckily there were other guys with me. Came to, said, AW FUCK MY COLLARBONE IS BROKE, started up the bike and rode the couple hundred yards to my buds back yard. Finally went to doc yesterday to confirm what I was already pretty sure of. Doc says it's an old break that never healed (2006 950 crash & chopper ride), and I said to him that the bone was as solid as a,well, bone, up until Sunday. But the small crack :eek1 IS right where there was a big bump in the bone before. Now it's a whole lot bigger. It seems that my wearing of a Leatt brace may have paid off. The helmet has a couple of fresh new big gashes in it, the fact that I got knocked onto Queer St. again, and the broken collarbone seem to add up to...............................I may not be sitting here typing this if I had not been wearing that fine little piece of kit. I just might have been doing my best Christopher Reeve imitation. Rest of self seems to have taken a beating also; back hurts, neck hurts, both legs black & blue. And I wear EVERY piece of kit that can be bought. Legs got beat up UNDER Carbon Fibre EVS Web knee braces!!!!! Can't imagine how fucked I would have been wearing almost nothing like lots of noobs.
Going to shoulder specialist tomorrow and see about getting my first "hardware", or see if he says let it be. I'm thinking I'm likely getting some Ti bits.

That's the biggest collarbone fracture I've ever seen by a huge margin. Note to self: avoid sections of trail called "____ of death". Best wishes for a fast recovery!

Doc said, better to NOT plate it. :huh
Also said, gap isn't that big. :huh
I said, it looks like I could drive my Jeep through it. :lol3

Oh well, rode the '84 1000 Interceptor yesterday. I think it's gonna be a bit longer before I can beat it up in the woods though.
