hello i have the ktm 640a 2006 i want to uncork it but i am worried it might get to loud if i keep the same amount of disc inside, question is, if it is too loud can i just remove some disc and get back close to stock levels, i don't mind a little more bark but our forest rangers are strict thank you laurence
It still stays pretty quiet. I actually bought a disc kit & added them all to maximize flow (13 discs total) & it still wasn't that loud. I bought an extra supertrapp so I could cork it & still keep the stock one all original. The pro circuit, was the loudest one I've tried, but right now I'm running an FMF Q4, so if you are interested in the corked one, let me know. I'll sell it with the discs for $100+ shipping.
thank you for the reply i am just going to uncorck it and go from there, any difference in low end grunt when you did it, i have an open air box and jetting is fine for my altitude here, after that will be the smog stuff removal.
Read up on the carb mods. They are well worth it. There was a little more bottom end, but I did everything at once: Removed snorkel & air box waffle cover, uncorked exhaust & all of the carb mods including rejetting. Really woke the bike up.
i did read the carb mods the onlythting that will benefit me is the 4th clip and drilling the slide on top, the bike came from factory with a 152 or 155 in toronto and that is correct for the altitude, apparantly this was done in the dealarship on pdi build
