Hi, Scroll down and read here, this is a sales scam: http://www.resellerratings.com/foru...talnerds-anyone-have-any-dealings-w-them.html JR356
Not as low as the scam but the the price is coming down. http://www.cameraaddict.com/viewproduct.aspx?ID=3613090&l=Everyprice
Sorry man, but it looks like they're a scammer too: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Camera_Addict
Both are scams. I got mine about a month ago and buydig.com had the best price at the time. $635 I keep reading of open box units going for about $500 or less at Amazon.com I never found one so I went with buydig.com.
After reading a multitude of negative feedback on various forums, I think I posted a whole list of alleged asshats awhile back. They seem to be centered around the Bronx and may have common ownership. Beware of A&M, Best Camera, Broadway Photo, Camera Addict, Cameratopia, Digital Liquidators, Ghu LLC, Millenium Camera, One-Way Photo, Preferred Photo, Prestige Photo, Quest4Cameras, Regal Camera, Royal Camera, TheDigitalExpo, Tronicity, and Wild Digital LLC. If you're shopping online, get it in writing that the unit isn't refurbished, or expect a substantial price concession. I think the best "legitimate" deals to be had were at Marks Outdoor for $628.99, Beach Cameras $643.77, and PC Nation at $643.90. Marks had the worst feedback of the three. If you value the best service reviews and are willing to pay a little more, step up to GPS Discount and pay $669.99. And please post or PM me if you find something better. I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Well you guys are way on top of it. Glad Im still waiting myself. I'll be looking, and not posting bad info, at this thread from time to time. Thanks
I have bought 4 gps units from GPSonsale.com, and have had great experience with them. Zumo 550 currently listing as 659.
I just got mine through Pricegrabber. Had some problems with shipping from the place I picked. But in the end I got hte unit in time for my trip at $638.88.
Thanks for taking the time to put that together and remind us that there are some very nasty online places out there. I can't remember how many times I looked at many of their ads in photo mags planning for my impending Nikon DSLR purchase. Finally ended up buying it locally for a pretty decent price... Next GPS will probably cost me more but piece of mind is worth it.
I had a link to some guy out in Colorado with a web sight with really great deals on GPS units. Only problem is I crashed my computer and lost everything. He was in the vendor fourm, but now I don't see it there either.
You really do have to be careful where you buy electronics on the 'net. I'm planning on going with Amazon, the Walmart of the Internet, when I buy mine in a few weeks. $678 but free shipping and $30 bucks off when you get their new card- $648. Sometimes it pays to spend a little bit extra to avoid being ripped off.
The reputable players in the arena have not changed much in the past few years. And the vendors who have consistently provided not only sales, but service and support have not either. Take a look here Your Favorite Source for GPS Stuff?
Does anyone have any experience with this retailer? http://www.marksoutdoorgear.com/servlet/Detail?no=5 $628.99 and free shipping
