Just saw a commercial that the race is tomorrow, totally forgot all about the race that use to be all you'd hear of leading up to the race.

But yeah, not a lot of activity. Did you see the finish of the Indy Lights race? Spectacular.

I was at the '64 race for the last front engine win. I followed the series for years as closely as F1.

We used to go to the CART street race in Denver and knew the names of most of the drivers.

They haven't held my interest sufficiently to bother to find out who is on the pole for the past few seasons.

CART vs IRL killed open wheel in the states. Where I live, I had 5 races within a 2 hour drive, Indy, Cleveland, Mid-Ohio, Belle Isle, Michigan Speedway. I could not tell you one name from the current race. No interest in the cars, the series, the teams or the drivers...

    Four women in the field.

Good luck, Pippa Mann, Ana Beatriz, Katherine Legge, and Simona de Silvestro

Gotta say that the vette looks nice on the track. One crash early.

Those safety side pods in front of the rear wheels make the cars look kind of ugly.

Not a big fan of the Camaro taillights.

I thought it was more for aerodynamics than safety, no?

You're right but the cars can only go so fast before they start lifting is what I thought. Something like 235mph if I remember correctly,

Watched the Formula One Gran Prix of Monaco this morning on a Spanish language network... the commentary was interesting even though I'm not much of a speaker.

Watching Indy... but can't stomach Eddie Cheever's analysis.

This morning's ride through Colorado, Austin and Fayette Counties was more entertaining.

Eddie has struggled for relevance his entire career as a driver or talking head.

It's because of his name. Which of these F1 drivers has the uncoolest name?

    Ricardo Patrese
    Fernando Alonso
    Gilles Villeneuve
    Aryton Senna
    Eddie Cheever

The helicopter shot makes it look like there are quite a few empty seats.

Combined with Eddie just not being a very good driver, guess he was doomed to mediocrity. :lol3

    duh?
Yep! They sure are fugly cars with wimpy sounding powerplants. It seems to me they've taken away the charging, fire-breathing stallions and put turbo-charged Civic go-carts out there. The F1 cars stick like glue but the Indy cars spin around like tops. Very BLAH! cars...

Finishing under yellow is bogus, what about adopting the Nascar G-W-Y checkered flag finish?
