My grandfather (Pete Dunagan) was a long time BMW rider until he was partially paralized by a stroke a few years ago. He has sold his bike with over 200k miles on it but he still loves bikes. We are having a family reunion the weekend of June 14, 2008 in Columbia South Carolina where he lives. He has said that before he dies he'd like to ride in a side car. The best day for this to happen would be Sunday the 15th. My family is willing to pay you for your gas, if you could make this happen. I'm not asking to borrow a rig, just a ride. Maybe 30 minutes to an hour, depending on how much he can take. He is mobile and walks with a cane. If no one can help, is there anywhere we can rent a side car rig in Columbia for the day? Thanks, John
This is a cool deal. I would step up if it wasn't clear across the country. I hope that someone can do that for your GRANDdad. Let's sticky this for a week or two.
there's one for sale in Rock Hill http://www.cycletrader.com/find/listing/2007-Ural-Patrol-92150667/?BAC-Oodle&WT.mc_id=Oodle Ural Patrol at Hager Cycle World maybe a "test ride"???
like email or webaddress or something, likely to get a few folks from SCT or other groups that'd be willing to help. If in WA State I would. Good on ya' Ace for the sticky - caught my attention.
I live in Concord NC just up the street from Lowes Motor Speedway. I you don't have someone local to help out, I am willing to ride down and give your Dad a nice ride! I have a 2006 Ural Tourist and would be happy to come down. If it was my Dad, I would hope someone else would step up and offer him a ride. Please send me a PM here and let me know what your turn up in Columbia. If nothing works out. I'm your man! Scott Davis Concord, NC
John, I just saw the link to this message posted on the Soviet Steeds message board. I am located in Columbia SC and would be more than happy to help out with a ride for your grandfather. Please let me know when and where you would like me to be, and any other information needed, and my Ural and I will be there. Feel free to e-mail me at bigmikemac@sc.rr.com. -Big Mike
Maybe we both could go and take folks for rides? Might be real fun!! We will take photo's. How flexable is the 9am time to be there? Scott
Maybe we could double up the ride and put a video camera man in one rig getting shots of your Grandfather enjoying the ride. Just a thought. Let me know and I can meet all of you at the prearranged time and place. -Big Mike
Big Mike, What a great idea for posterity!! Even a still camera would be great. Good on all of you stepping up to help out a fellow rider!! Ride Safe. Sevoman
