What Baja Dad said. I came through a couple of days ago. The SCORE route to Coco's is the same as NORRA. A bunch of the last paved section is yet to be used. They are still grading just before Papa Fernandez. There were still survey crews working just past Gonzaga.
In Guerrero Negro tonight on way back up from La Paz. The highway is in good shape all the way down. Just below Mulege there are a couple of vados that are a little rough, just back out of the4 throttle when you see the orange & black construction reflectors along side of the road. The new section below Viscanio is real soft and silty but as said before are wide enough that it wont be a problem. The last bit before Santa Ignacio is REAL rocky with large blocks of basalt lava (so save some energy for that last bit).
Cross posting this found in western regional Titled "SOS from my husband's SPOT" http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=837658 My husband is in Baja Mexico (Baja Ho) with 3 other friends who I cannot reach. I have been receiving SOS messages since 6PM and phone calls saying they are requesting help from search and rescue here in Mexico. San Quintin says they do not have the man power to look for him. At 2PM this afternoon he sent me a message from the same coordinates saying he was OK. He left for Baja 2 days ago with 3 other guys. I am in Cabo and flying back to California tomorrow. I need help! http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...9005&ll=30.43963,-115.99005&ie=UTF8&z=12&om=1
QUOTE=Baja Ho;19931605]Great news, just got a phone call from the Old Mill. Dan's bike broke down and his SPOT is missing. He is not sending these SOS messages. He is not even aware of what's going on as he is asleep.
Glad this all worked out to be a non-issue.It could've easily gone the other way.............. We now take you back to our regularly scheduled broadcast..........
Interesting I thought they used the big buck BD hids? Is led technology anywhere near the distance reach of halogen/hids?
I've done a bit of testing with the Onx LEDs (Baja Designs newest LED) and they are close but not quite there. I bet that the optics to make them competitive with the HIDs exist just not enough of them to sell to you and me. They have been using the same Halogens for at least 10 years. I have never seen or heard of them using HIDs before. I asked Henge about that in '06 or '07 and he told me he prefered the color of the Halogens. The guy who he was with also commented on the unreliability of HIDs. That was true then but not so much now. Edit: and then he fucking murdered me to death for telling me.
It's also the wattage draw isn't it? Watt for output is far greater. I know Jcr use a special engine casing which is wider to accommodate the larger stator to drive the presumably north of 200 watts halogens. That's where the hids come into their own - 2 x 35 watt hids are very similar to the 200 watt halogens
That is not me!! But that is my ride for the 1000 and it is NICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The stock Honda 450X can only be wraped to pull 175 watts I like the h4 bulbs my self using 1-100/85 watt High low and 1-65/55 watt High low bulb.
You can get 175 watts from a crf450x stator? Serious ? I didn't think there was room for anything north of about 120-150?
