What bike did you take your test on....

Mine was a friends CB900F ... I think it was a 1980 or 1981... fast, tall and way too much bike... but hey.. I managed to pass the road test.

It was my buddies first new bike and he stood by the testing area, arms crossed and scowling the whole time!

1972 Kawasaki F7 175cc



Fun bike. Bought it second hand, fall of 1972. Had 400 miles and two biffs

by previous owner. She said it was too fast for her. :huh

Rotary valve porting gave good power, but the weight was a big drawback.

MSF bike, some standard 125....

No one told me there was going to be a test :huh

1978 Honda CB400T

'72 Honda CB350 - old, slow, and (relatively) heavy, but reliable.

kept it for many years, and even rode across canada on it the summer after I graduated from high school.:eek1

1984 Honda VF700 s "Sabre"

'89 R100gs.

1980 Honda CX500 Custom. Wasn't too hard.

Went later on the practice course with the next bike I had - 1989 Honda Hurricane 1000. Took about 10 tries before I could execute the u-turn on that bike in the proscribed space.

1982 Yamaha XS400 Seca

1975 (?) Yamaha RD350 - in yes, 1975, when there was a designation for over 500cc machines. Had to re-take the test on a 650 Special, later.

got my MC license in 1963... no test required. Never have taken a test yet.

1971 HODAKA ace 100.

1989 NX250 borrowed from the Honda dealer I worked at. Perfect bike for the test. A friend of mine bought an NX later on and 15 or 20 people must have borrowed that bike for the test. As far as I know everyone passed.

1974 Honda CB125. Man I loved that bike! :rabia

Took mine in 93 on a Yam XT 350. Upright like a bicycle and light enough to throw around. No problem with the test.

Boy did I feel like a stud! About 7 years ago.....

As part of the emasculating rider training mandates: You must ride their 250cc Kawasaki cruiser. A Trail 90 has more class than this thing did.

It was something that had no market share outside of Asia. I know they use the TW200 around here now (and my wife has one), but that castrated cruiser was just freaking embarassing. I do have enough sense to realize that I did pass the test, so some thanks should be due........or not.

after a stern lecture about "that type of bike" on the street, I proceeded to feather the clutch for the whole test, never even blipped the throttle.

anybody here think the test has any relevance to daily driving?

First bike I owned, of course the first thing I did was make it go faster, Rejet, replaced the air filter and put expansion chambers on.

Fast bike, steered like a tank.
