Now that I have your attention.......................................... This is one of the best small items to put in your tool kit if you have tube tires. Saves your knuckles and keeps your blood pressure down. One end is threaded and the other is a valve core tool. They are $24.95 and you will bitch about the price until you use it. To get a 10% ADVrider discount, key the word deadsnake in the coupon section of my shopping cart www.alaskaleather.com 1. Remove valve core of new or repaired tube 2. Roll the tube up with the stem facing out to remove as much air as possible 3. Insert the tube snake (using the threaded end) into the stem to keep the air out 4. Lay the tube on top of the rim. 5. Use one hand to lift the edge of the tire and the other hand to feed the tube snake through the stem hole. Pull the tube snake to get the stem out of the hole. Put the nut on loosely. 6. Lay the tube inside of tire, keeping the tube flat against the outer wall to avoid pinching. 7. Use spoons to work the bead back on rim, being careful to avoid pinching the tube 8. After you have the tire back on the rim, you can remove tube snake. Make sure your tube is centered, tighten rim locks if you have them. Don't forget to inflate tire. Barb
Looks good! I made a similar tool with a short threaded rod, but the "tube snake" looks like it would work better. Bookmarked your web site.
These things save SO much time and frustration, especially on front rims. I had a home-made version but lost it considering how much time I don't have, I will probably be ordering one from Barb.
Thanks Barb, I just received my order (including the tube snake) yesterday. Sure wish all mail-order businesses were as easy, efficient and fast as Alaska Leather. Highest quality products and always wonderful service. Thanks again, Tom

Hey what about Mexico. I am in creel and it is cold and windy and I have no snake tube. Hey did you send one to BonBon???? Adios R2dude
Shipping is too expensive to Mexico, how 'bout I fly down and deliver it to you. I did not send one to BonBon, I'm afraid she wouldn't know what to do with it. Barb
You turned me on to these tube snakes about 6 months ago and I've used one several times here in Alaska and even once in some desolate stretch in the middle of Argentina (or maybe Chile) somewhere. Great little tool and it doesn't take any space in the tool kit. The man that pulled over and helped change the tire on the roadside in So America was spinning wrenches and stuff was flying. Senior Willy was speedy and had done it before many times. Well enough to know when the job was about to get crappy. When it got to the part where you put it back together though he said "here... you bike / you do" He was amazed at how easy that little snake made things go back together and I could tell he was jonesing for my snake. Hard to cut loose of when you know you've got another 6 or 8k miles to go and there's a good chance there's another flat in there somewhere. I've got a picture of that somewhere. Desolate. When I find it...
