Cautiously announcing (while knocking on wood) that according to various forecasts, the weather may cooperate for this event. :deal

This is like a school snow day make up!
We get to celebrate Bob Marley Birthday, The Ides of March [15th] and St Patrick's Day all at the same time!

TENTH annual bob marley's birthday celebration, Sunday, 03/16/2014

    bob marley 02/06/1945

need an excuse for a sunday ride!

    here is one!

Sunday MARCH 16 2014 @ eleven forty-five am. Meet and celebrate bob marley's birthday @ ft hoskins park, hoskins or.

this is the tenth year! It has been a lot of fun.

this is a no host event. Riders will bring their own food, plates, utensils, coffee cup and music to participate. On site: A picnic table, charcoal and grill to prepare your celebratory dinner. If you want to share food, bring something everyone will enjoy! Each rider should bring a piece of firewood!

directions: Head west from corvallis or on highway 20. Go through philomath and stay on hwy 20 a few miles. Turn off at wren or onto or hwy 223.

hwy 223 goes n towards kings valley and eventually dallas or.

follow hwy 223 approx 6 miles n. Turn left to hoskins. There is a rural fire station opposite the turn. Ft hoskins park sign is about 1/4 mile just after the lh turn off hwy 223. Proceed west and follow signs to park.

the approximate gps coordinates are: latitude: 44.675397, longitude: -123.4542703)

use first gear at park entrance. It is paved, but steep with a sharp rh turn almost immediately. Once past that, you will be rewarded at the top of the hill.

this is a newly designated benton county park. Ft hoskins was sited there from 1856 to 1866.

    hope to see you there!

disclaimer: This is a fun event. Celebrating bob's birthday in no way condones drug use, illegal items or supports his way of life. We picked bob because it was the only other significant event listed on the search engine! Ja mon!

Traffic may be heavy near Junction City and Territorial Road Sunday. It's the "Daffodil Tour" :lol3 at Long Tom Grange.
Maybe stay on 99 until Monroe or go via Peoria Rd if you are riding from Eugene.

Home and in the garage just as it started raining. Good ride, good people, good food.
The only bummer was I lost my axe.

It was a great meeting. Lots of good food and terrific people. I counted 35 total. I guess the threat of rain steered some over to the cinammon roll ride, lol.

I saw a Gribber fancy kids ax over by the fire grill. It was on the left side of the grill, where you place meat before you burn it.
The south most grill. I thought it might get hot and melt the black handle but when I picked it up it was still cool so I put it back where I found it.

Not to worry, it will show up.:D:D

    Good chili MB.

Yep, that was it Gerber with saw in handle. I didn't find it when we left. Fire was out, wood was gone, everything clean and no axe.

Nice seeing everybody and talking bikes. Some nice rides showed up, but for some reason my camera didn't come out. Too busy stuffing my face I guess. Took the road north outta there and saw some different country.

Didn't take my camera out much today. Snapped a few on the way back North, when I had to stop and consult the GPS. Managed a few interesting roads on the way back.

Yeah, took a break from the "Dirt" for a weekend. That Russell I picked up on Craigslist is very comfy, I took a bit of a meander yesterday and after 300 miles the seat was still comfy, so guess that's good. Went' through probably a dozen showers, but nothing steady - was dressed for it though and stayed quite comfy.

DiggerD, yeah name tags would have been good. Nice chatting with ya though.
