Didn't see a thread for this, so I decided to start one. Let's see the nastiest roads you've been on with your bike. Here's a fairly tame pic of mine, where two rutted hard clay roads meet... would be worse if it was wet, of course. Surely you all can do better (well, worse) than that!
Well, public roads in Europe tend to be pretty good (what a shame). But there are some cool roads I found: Northern Germany: Finland But of course Russia still has the more interesting roads. Near Saint-Petersburg.
Guys, I think you're missing the point... I'm interested in BAD roads: Yes, I rode through this, though I'll admit I ended up walking my bike about ten feet through the notch on the right side of the opposite bank. The rest of that bank was pretty steep. And yes, that is a road. It's here: 40°11'48.38"N 91°59'11.45"W
GPS even gave it a name....lots of this in NH. Biker beware if you take road bikes on GPS short cuts. and another Lovell Mtn Rd
Not so much a bad road. Just that it's a state highway - New Mexico Hwy. 120. It was the first time I'd ever seen a dirt highway.
This picture does not look too bad. This video shows a bit of what it took to get there. <iframe frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="425" height="284" src="https://api.smugmug.com/services/embed/1769622111_5xXmK3t?width=425&height=284"></iframe>
This is the worst that I have a picture of. Right after a wind storm knocked down a bunch of trees. Damn bolts on the bottom of the skid plate got hung up on the log.
