okay vander I'll start one of my own Mine last week. Finishing in the dark. And a rideout with a group yesterday
I know I'm late to the party, but shit yeah, you are 100% correct. Gilb, your bike looks awesome, too. If they brought that bike stateside, I'd dump my XR650L in a heartbeat. Shit...I hope she didn't hear that...
Just got 95 twin headlight tenere. It's missing right side tank fairing. Where can I source it. need help.
hello, I'm joining the Tenere Owner Club with pleasure and pride ! I picked up my beauty last saturday. Pics are in appropriate thread :)
Fairings and side covers seem to be difficult to find for the older models. If you do find something please post you results, it might help if you tell people what country your in too.
I finally got around to finishing the pannier racks since my last post in this thread. I added a Hepco Becker top case mount and the crashbars as well. Ready for an Easter getaway.
LC8TY..........I realy like how you have tarted her up, she has turned out supurb. After seeing yours i nearly started looking for a second hand one to fix up myself........but i know i wont get the time, so i'll wait for the new one to arrive here in OZ. Great work though mate
Looking for tank guards for my '89 3aj. I have search and can only find them for the later model stuff. Any help would be Geart.
Check this site; http://www.rikycrossracing.com/ They might have tank and engine guards for your bike. Situated in Italy.
Big and small Bit later in Mongolia For all you 3aj owners. Know that the exhaust can hit the rear caliper bracket. We lost 3 on our trip.
does anyone have a workshop manual for the tenere, xtz660 model ? i need to remove the starter motor, but is there an easier way other than removing the exhaust ?
it looks the same as the 99 model i have the crashbars are from hepco becker here is a link to the australian distributor.. http://www.motorcycleadventure.com.au/ i got a set from them a couple of months ago for $306 inc postage.. also found them good to deal with hope this helps derek
i'd love to get my hands on a set of white plastics, i got the black ones, but had a fall at 40 km p/h on a gravel road, and well, my nice shiny bike ain't shiny no more on the r/h side , and the plastics are a bit hurt, and scratched up, and cracked, so in the future, next tax time, i might invest in a new white set of plastics i will also be investing in some crash bars, and at that price that is pretty reasonable, rather than forkin up for a set of new plastics all the time.
