So I was reading about the New 09 touring models. New Frame, New Swing Arm, New Rear tire, etc. All this sounded great but I don't need a new bike I thought. I'll just go up to the local dealer and kill some time. You know just kick some tires maybe even get a demo ride. Well after about 21 seconds on the bike I could tell there was a whole lot of things different from my 04!!! It actually handles! It pulls great and stops even better. Everything seemed better even the radio!!! Damn it hate that! Well the bike is literally miles from the 04. Its in my driveway and the 04 is on the dealer's used bike showroom!
Well I must confess. I traded in my 08 C-14 on a 09 Ultra. The Ultra is not as fast but it sure is comfortable because I aint gettn any younger.
Congrats. The 09's are very nice, and with the level of quality the last few years of HD production have seen you'll have the option of riding it for a long time to come. :huh Pretty severe change. What prompted you to buy the C-14 in the first place?
I liked the power and new looks of the C-14. Then I started riding with the Blue Knights and making longer rides 400+ mile days and went with comfort. I am suprised the way the Ultra handles. It is no C-14 by any means but is suprising for a touring bike.
Adventurerider is by far my favorite mc site on the net, but it's juvenile Harley bashing, amongst others, can get so tiring at times... Congratulations on your new 09 Dresser, at the trade shows HD was astute enough to showcase the new chassis minus bodywork, people were asking me if I was alright, as I was crawling about looking it over. A rubber mounted dresser, without the Softail's balance shafts, six speed transmission, good brakes, EFI and cruise control and now it runs on rails..., what a dynamite package ! Good choice, good post ! 996DL
I forgot about the pic upload here is the first of many that I will be showing off!!! I hope to have a lot of miles and pics soon. Thanks for the replies
I'm mulling over a new FLTR myself, being as getting another brand new one is not going to be an option soon. I test rode one a Daytona, it was nice.
