Im not sure why but he ordered the chain and believe he said it was needing it due to wear. Unsure though, as it was supposed to be ready last monday and when I called today he said he hadnt touched it yet, but ordered the parts :huh Hope he wont change if its not needed. Didnt think about the water pump. thats a good idea, thanks, Ill gert that done if he can as well. Ordering parts seems to be the PITA part. I shoulda probably found a KTM dealership, so parts were there. :eek1

The water pump shaft & seal* you need to get from KTM, but the 2 bearings are a common size, get them from the local bearing shop along with the main cam bearings.

Dunno about where you are but KTM shops here don't stock bugger all for the LC4, so it's probably not making much difference.

*some have sourced the seal elsewhere but my local engineering supplies/bearing shop couldn't do them & they are usually fairly good at finding stuff like that.

    Cheers
    Clint

We fabricated a custom bracket and mounted two Vision X Optimus primes, the low beam is a 60 degree and the high a 10 degree, then tied the the low in to come on with the high. If you need some let me know...

Hi guys, I picked this little gem off Craigslist Yuma the other day. Had to do the water pump, the main shaft bearing, and a clutch but she runs like a top. This will be my 4th lc4. Starting with an 97 rxc620 then I got a 2003 sxc625 then I got the 09 smc690 (hardly an LC4 when it's double counter balanced) lol and now I'm back to the paint shaker 2001 adventure 640. Fun bike! I'm really surprised that it handles so well.

This is with the body off for a full check over.

Hey guys....After all these years....finally got myself a 640A after a the plan failed to convert my previous Duke640 into an adventure...
It's only about 2weeks now with it....I could say it's quite a lemon bike when I bought over...previous owner tell me good stuff about it on how he wouldn't miss a service interval bla....bla..bla...and to start with...the bike has already gone 104k kilometres.

The very first day took over the bike...replaced the worn out tyres to MT-21,new brake pads, new oil,new coolant...the bike is still running poorly due to the faulty stock carb as the slide was worn and airscrew jammed...so still running on the faulty carb till the fcr41 gets flown in from OZ.

Here's the bike on the first test riding it yesterday.

Aj, your bike looks great! It is funny how people like to hide stuff. My previous owner said the bike was ready to ride. When I drove 3 hours to pick up the bike it had water mixed in the oil from the bad water pump....

Does Singapore have many fantastic places to ride an adventure?

Nope....just a small inch for some offroad practice...we usually have cross the border for some real fun over the weekends....and if you have plenty of time, travel further north...

    Hello everyone,

    Just picked up this gem

Pretty decent shape, have all the service records, miles are a tad high, but she runs like a top!

Anyways, I'm curious if anyone has any lowering links sitting around. I only have a 28" inseam, and it is manageable but barely. I'll probably get the suspension lowered eventually, but it was just gone thru and don't want the extra expense at the moment. I have my 250 exc for gnar single track warfare, this is just going to be a commuter/dual sport/camping rig, so the links might work.

Send me a pm if you have some to sell. Thanks!

    What timing!

I just picked up an 07 with Kouba links and I'd like to get a set of the OEM links to raise it back up a tad.

    PM sent!

Need a bit of help. I have just replaced my fuel pump and the over flow is pushing out fuel. When the bike is running I have put on new vacuum line. No other changes. What could it be? Is it a known problem, can anyone help Cheers Peter
