It's been a while since the last update with us at the Vancouver Moto Show and finalizing the design of this rack.

The KTM Top Rack goes into production this week and we're on target to have them ready for the end of February.

We've also added SW-Motech TraX Top Box (and another one we're not going to mention yet :evil) direct mounting to give you yet another option. :D

    That makes it:

-Rotopax Top Direct mount (still retaining 360 degree strap slot access) and Top L bracket mount
    -Givi/Kappa Top Box Direct Mount
-SW-Motech TraX Top Box Direct Mount
    -KISS (DIY) TOP Box mounting
-ideal Giant Loop Great Basin integration offering multiple strap configurations and bag fore/aft positioning
    -Perfect soft bag/strap accommodation
-comes with any necessary spacers (CNC aluminium) and Stainless Steel bolts for simple installation
-Black fine textured powder coat finish
-another soon to be announced Top Box mounting

More info and pics as soon as I have it.

    Thanks for checkin it out!

We finally have the KTM 990/950 ADV & 950 SE Top Racks done! :clap

We are just just working on the spacers.

They will start to ship this week.

The 990/950 ADV version will come with two CNC'd aluminium spacers and two longer stainless steel bolts for the front mounting points. You re-use your existing bolts for the rear mounting points.

    Price will be $99.99 CAD

The 950 SE version we are still waiting for the hardware for and it will be a little more because it comes with four spacers and four stainless bolts.

I will be emailing/PM'ing riders that expressed interest in the next few days.
If you do not hear from me please email me at:
    dave@motooverland.com

On another note I was at a dealer of ours a couple of days ago looking at the Kolpin fuel packs. Their Pack Mount will actually fit right onto two of the existing holes in the middle of all of our Top Racks!! :clap

That makes for another option: the Kolpin Jr. fuel pack and pack mount. :deal

We've heard their L bracket fits too but we haven't tried that yet.

The most up-to-date info will be posted here as our computer with our website program died this past week. :cry

Please let me know if there are any questions and thanks for checkin it out!

Got some pics to share of the MOD KTM Top Rack mounted up:

    Compared to stock.

We think the shape of the Top Rack compliments the bike.

    Lot's going on here:

    Fuel options:
Rotopax fuel pack top mount (perimeter slots still accessible with 1 gal.) and L bracket top mount, Kolpin Jr fuel pack top mount (we've heard that their L bracket will fit on too...confirmation to come)

    Top Box options:
Givi/Kappa Monokey mounting, SW-Motech Trax mounting, KISS (DIY) mounting

Multiple Giant Loop Great Basin Saddlebag strap options and positioning.

Works very well with just about any soft bag of course.

It's actually narrower than the exhaust pipes (distorted by the camera lens). It's 339mm wide (13 3/8") at the widest point tapering to 283mm (11 1/8") and 279mm (11") long.

Black fine textured powder coat finish. It's tougher, grips soft bags better and hides scratches better.

    Made in B.C. Canada.

    Thanks for checkin it out.

Thanks very much for the order Joel! :thumb

    Next up...

Confirmation on the Kolpin mount and their Fuel Pack Jr. (1.5gal.) fitting MOD Top Racks.

Mounts right up to two of the existing holes in the MOD Top Racks (F800GS version shown here). That was lucky!

Their L bracket does not however line up with any existing holes.

So there you have it, yet another option!

    Thanks for checkin it out!

Some pics of the different set-ups:

Rotopax top mounting. You can also mount the Rotopax L bracket on top to have the Rotopax vertical.

Givi/Kappa Monokey mounting. When you need to have a top box this is an easy solution. The mounts are fairly low profile meaning you can leave them there and still strap on some soft bags.

    Thanks for lookin!

Here's a pic of the SW-Motech Trax Top Box mounts installed on our KTM 990/950 Adv & 950 SE Top Rack:

Fits on and works perfectly! They are also very low profile so you could leave them on and still put a soft bag on.

Here's a post from number13 in OC on the MOD KTM 950SE Top Rack:

    <table id="post15484720" class="tborder" align="center" border="0" cellpadding="4" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr valign="top"><td class="alt1" id="td_post_15484720" style="border-right: 1px solid rgb(87, 87, 87);"> Its still winter. Boo!
But i have started ordering and receiving some upgrades and stuff for my 950SE.
First to arrive was a rear rack that i will use to carry a 1 gallon rotopax (which is on its way).
Motooverland.com (MOD) is a company out of BC, Canada that has been building cool stuff for dualsport bikes for a while.
Dave (owner) had made a post on Orange Crush regarding the idea of building racks for the KTM 990's and 950's. i was all ears.
i was fortunate to receive the first rack for a 950SE.
Arrived promptly with a tracking number supplied as well. Packaged well so no chance of damage. i took it out and carried it right to the garage.
Now here is the funny...err...embarrassing part. The rack was so nice looking that i never checked to see which side was UP. i just plopped it on and that is when i thought the bolts sat a tad high (not flush). i spoke with Dave and he said that maybe they might sit a little off of flush. i sent him a pic and that is when he told me it was upside down:rofl

This thing is so nicely made that even the bottom looks awesome. i actually took a pic of it thinking i was taking it right side up.:lol3

    Without further adieu, some pics:

    Hello!

We just heard back from a customer with the fit with Jesse side racks. It fits on no problem using the bolts provided with the Jesse rack system (he however thinks that the bolts provided in his case [80mm] are a little short).

The Top Rack is virtually the same thickness where it mounts as the stock one so it should be able to fit with any side rack system that still allows you to use a top rack.

As we here back from more customers we'll be updating the compatibility list with different side racks.

    Thanks!! :ricky:ricky:ricky

    Some more news:

We're setting up Givi/Kappa Monokey mount kits specifically for our Top Racks.

They are all set with the perfect hardware and also include special rubber/stainless steel combo washer (Neobond) for the rear "pyramid block" making for a secure, gouge free fit.

    Available now.

We just got more of the Top Racks done now too.

    Thanks!
