TBR Z50JZ Supermoto

Well ~ can't keep my fingers away from bikes and after assembling a few custom Z50JZ "Monkey Bikes" over the years.
Miserable weather over here during the colder season and started another full on custom mini bike project with our son.

Kick started the custom 8" Z50JZ Supermoto project a couple of month ago going through the parts stored away from previous builds. Using a MIC = Made In China "cheap as chips" frame for test fitting custom and modified parts.
A mate had to relocate back to his home country and left me his kids Jincheng Z50JZ replica bike behind, good starter bike for the project as the bike is already rego'ed and fully licensed….

Metal fabrication shed down the road milled and cut a few stainless steel axle and stainless steel bar ends for the custom bike projects.









Had a few screws modded as well while over at the metal shed, looks great after some spit and polish….

G-Craft alloy 3.5" wheels (front / rear) with Bridgestone Battlax BT390 3.5x8" tyres.
G-Craft +40mm alloy round swingarm, rear G-Craft alloy hub (disc brake), CF-Posh alloy rear sprocket.

just plain awesome. no two ways about it.

i rode a built Z50 a few years back... it was a blast & way, way faster than i thought it'd be. i've wanted one since.

Looking at beautiful Italian parts, toying with the idea to install Brembo controls…..

nice build have you fitted a bigger motor in the bike like a 150cc or 160cc to give it more top speed and power.

The "mini" Ducati bike pictured in the first post has plenty of go fast power, unreal ~ like riding on a cannonball…..

*Takegawa hydraulic dry-clutch (5 speed gearbox)

*TJR special head gasket 58mm
*TJR special cylinder with a new cylinder sleeve 58mm
*Crankcase spindled for cylinder 58mm

Let's move on with the Supermoto build. Fastway foot pegs installed, they are by far the best footrests I have come across so far.

Very cool minis you've got there. The quality of some of the mini bike stuff that comes out of Japan is amazing. I had an nsr50 converted to and nsf100 fully outfitted with all the goodies. I have to say my favorite par of that bike was the gale speed forged wheels and gcraft triples with rs125 forks. Looking forward to more pics.

What type of figure is it to import one of those Honda engines from Thailand?

The only thing holding me back from getting a CT-70 is the lack of speed keeping up with everyday traffic.

Don't know, had three engines shipped over some years ago from Bangkok to Shanghai.
As far as I know the Honda Nice 110cc -Thailand- engines (carb version) have been discontinued but parts are readily available.
Always a possibility to start with a set of engines cases (Honda / Takegawa) and start a custom hi-po engine build from scratch.

Yes but buying quality in the first place pays in the end….

See my signature line, some ride reports from our side of the world but nothing with "mini bikes" as they do not leave my eyesight, easily stolen and carried away….

Yes, correct, crazy mad tuning parts available for Honda Dax / Monkey bikes and the Honda NSR's as well, pricey but worth every cent….

As initial project startup engine installing a Quickfoot QF128 (128cc) MIC = Made In China engine and not sure about later on but seriously thinking about a Takegawa Desmo based engine.

Playing around with different carbs, custom fabricated stainless steel inlet manifolds and some of our other custom parts.
Most probably will use the Keihin PE28 (Daytona pre-set) and HM Inlet Manifold (stainless steel) again.
A bikers work is never done....

























Found a original 50cc engine inlet manifold and comparing to a stainless steel 28mm inlet manifold ~ well, there is a difference…

Unwrapped the beautiful Big Cedar Z50JZ alloy tank, CF-Posh high flow fuel petcock and Kitaco alloy cap….
The alloy tank will get custom airbrush paint job later on.
