Misca's Tracker is up! $ sent

Suggestion: use the Support button on Misca's tracker because it's so cool and we all benefit from it.

Well, I've got the first week off work, t shirt ordered, a PC and a tablet. The only problem is that it is bed time when each stage kicks off! Ah well, right hemisphere, wrong side of the planet.

    Go Grabbo no.32:clap:clap:clap:freaky
Also best of luck to the other Aussies:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

Are there any mile markers (post counts) that will help us chart progress of this thread? (Kinda like min number of posts required per day to equal last years thread)

Here's the good stuff. This is my Google Earth file showing the exact course for Stage 1. The Google Earth imagery is pretty good in some places, and terrible in others. I have other imagery I use when the GE imagery is bad, which explains why my track is slightly "off the road" in some places.

Google Earth file - Dakar 2014 Stage 1 Course

Look here for photos along the course: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?p=23134375#post23134375
Look here for some points in the roadbook matched to the GE imagery: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?p=23134138#post23134138

That is always what amazes me. How anybody gets any sleep in the Bivvys at all. It must be like trying to sleep on the stage of a big hair metal band. :huh I read a Dakar racer said once they use sleeping pills sometimes, but not sure what is and is not allowed in that department these days.

I crewed for a 24hr offroad moto endurance race recently and I do know that when you get tired enough you can sleep through anything.

or motor homes, but the real answer is not much - the better you are though the more sleep time you will get - I know the likes of Ned, Pyndon and Manny in the past would have had days when the didn't!!:eek1:eek1:eek1

Check out the decent on the Stage 1 liaison just after the finish. Too bad they don't race down that!
