His looks more like the one on the bottom, so I'm guess muffled one.

Had a buddy 20+ years ago that had a 4-into-1 Supertrapp on his Nighthawk S. Sounded like sex on wheels. A wonderful raspy bark. Less discs, more pressure, quieter tone. More discs, less pressure, more bark.

That is a cool looking setup. Should be tunable over a fair range.

Oh WOW. Might just have to get one!

I had a Supertrapp on my old '87 K100rs - man did I love the way that bike sounded. I didn't run that many discs - just enough to give it a tad more noise but certainly not obnoxious.

    Oh man...

I'm running 14 disks on my dual sport.

Unfortunately those sports are bar hopping and parade riding :oscar. They do sound great however.

I have had a few bikes with the Supertrapp exhaust.
I loved being able to tune the thing by adding or removing disks.
What I really hated about them was they blow exhaust all over your bike.
Whatever is next to it will turn black over time and get really hot.
They do make some type of small shield to help with this problem.
I have used this shield on one bike and it worked a little, still turned part of my dirt bike fender black.
I wouldn't mount one anywhere close to any type of luggage. I have seen melted plastic fenders from this system.

    I ran the small one,
SuperTrapp 344-1705 , with the 1.75 inlet on my 1150gs.

With the 1150 you really do not need the muffler because the cat does a good job of silencing by itself.

The reason I used the diffuser was for the USFS spark Arestor Req

Tork, do you think the small supertrapp will quiet down a Y pipe on the 1150GS? I just mounted a Y pipe and trying a small $20 tractor muffler, but now it sounds like a tractor. :eek1

Don't want to add back all that weight of the factory silencer.

Any thoughts? Anyone else mount a supertrapp on an 1150?:ear :ear

The small Supertrapp should quite a little, I know with the cat still on, it made a difference on my 1150gs between it and running without it.

What about removing the HOT cat and running the Spr Trp in it's place?? I HATE the heat that the cat puts off on my boots (especially right one) when riding in hot weather.
