Finally got out riding with some friends. They were kind enough to let me follow along.

We rode in N.C. not too far from the rally site.

Cledus and his brand spanking new suzuki 400.

Looks like you guys had a good day of riding.:thumb

I've been scouting trails & clearing fallen trees. Today was a good one. Opened a few loops on the trails & flagged some tricky spots.

Here's a "trail" I found that we'll probably skip for the rally ride. I doubt many would find it "enjoyable" on 2 wheels. The waterfalls on downstream get kind'a tricky.

I know ATVs are fat slow turds....,but they are great for hauling chainsaws & shovels.

You're right I'll start working on that. It's hard to show trails correctly in a photo, because I don't know how to choose the right point of view to shoot from. Most of my shots tend to flatten the hills out. I try to shoot a big steep hill climb and it looks like a gentle slope through the woods....

And the shots that are actually in the woods just show a bunch of trees, and maybe a little trail. The sad thing is I'm actually a halfway decent photographer with portraits & products, and so-so with most landscapes...except darned riding trails.

I bought a helmet cam but haven't figured out how/where to mount it on my helmet yet. I've tried it on my handle bars, but it's too choppy and doesn't "pan" well like on a helmet would. I'll tinker with that when the weather gets cold & crappy, in a few days.

I have been finding a lot of new trails. :norton
We'll never be able to ride them all in the two days, but everybody will get a good "lay of the land", so when they come back up they won't have to worry about getting lost as they explore all the almost infinite nooks & crannies.

Anyone who has been to the recent RDV's has probably stopped by Shady Valley.

Yesterday, I got to view $750,000 worth of cars.......yup, just two cars..

I guess a place that sells non-ethanol fuel may be a point of interest? :dunno

The easiest test I can think of is to simply put some gas in a clean jar and add a drop of water based food coloring. If the fuel is truly ethanol-free the drop of color will remain a little blob and drop to the bottom, if alcohol is present it will dissipate and mix with the gas.
