was going to leave about six am from baxter, then follow the a1 through Bairnsdale / bruthen then c608 to Buchan, fuel up , then follow snowy river rd till it runs into barry way then carry on till I find pinch river camp site, how does that sound for a plan, never been this area before so don't want to stuff up, :norton

When you hit the Vic - NSW Border (watch out for the corner near there) set your trip metre to zero. About 25k's there is a concrete bridge. 100 metres, turn left.

    Open beer can.

    And I so advise.

Or, 6 am from Baxter puts you in Briag before 9. am. Come to my place, follow me and the boys a very different way. Similar k's.

At the rate of knots that the 950 travels at, it probably feels like 12kms, but I'm with Doonie on the distance.

    See ya there?

    As the crow fly's yes,

Tell ya what. Stop the bike at 10.98km, get off and push the bike to the bridge where the campsite is.

    Good luck!

    PS maps are your friend

    Cheers

Don't forget our Crows observe all speed limits

This photo was taken at least 12 years ago, at the border at Willis, looking back into Vic, on the way to a Cold Flame rally.

It has always tickled my fancy. Especially since in those days, it was almost all dirt back to Buchan:lol3:lol3:lol3

GMaps (by reckoning) indicate 13.5km form point C to point D.

I was at VicRoads when these signs were installed in the late 1980's (I seem to remember).

Instructions from Head Office were to install these signs at ALL border crossings, in addition to highway and major road entrances to major towns and the metropolitan area. Looks like we didn't miss the Barry Way.

I'm sure Chris can give us an accurate reading post rally for future reference.
