2014 GSW with my name on it

I agree 100%, I was going to wait for the ADV to come out before I pulled the trigger on one or the other but I realized the standard GSW is WAY more bike than I will probably ever use.

I prefer the looks of the standard GSW over the ADV as well. IMO the outgoing ADV models seemed to carry their weight better (they don't look as fat). I do however love the blacked out look of the ADV. That is the one thing I wish I could get on a standard.

As a bike, I prefer the ergonomics of the non Adv, but I much prefer the black engine and frame of the Adv. I wonder how long it will take for the regular 12 to be offered with a black engine and frame?

Ride report- My face is sore from smiling all the way home!

It was about a 60 mile ride from the dealership to my house.

She runs and handles like a dream. It actually feels smoother than the 2013 that I took for a demo ride, no excessive vibrations or buzziness at all.

Transmission shifts have a very "direct" feeling, I wouldn't consider it clunky like some have reported. Yes first gear clunks, but I think some people are overreacting on this too.

I didn't notice any heat coming from anywhere while riding. (65-60ish degrees outside)

Bike came with Michelin Anakee 3's, I haven't ridden enough to give any kind of review on them. I have heard good things about them though.

The only slight annoyances I noticed were that I kept accidentally pressing the multicontroller when using the turn signals (started to get used to it toward the end of the ride), and the "self cancelling" turn signals don't seem to self cancel (might be operator error)

All in all, I am a very happy camper right now!

My dealer e-mailed a picture of the box which has my red (fastest color BTW ) GS in it. All the TT stuff arrived so it should be assembled tomorrow afternoon. This will be a LONG night.

The dealer emailed a couple of pics - my bike arrived in Austin late this afternoon (Tuesday) and I should pick it up Thursday once the aux lights and TT panniers and top box are installed. Red bike with white springs.

it's a long time to wait but it will be well worth it and just in time for the cooler writing weather in Florida
