Couple of pics of a G/S project. Original odometer read 16K. Got it years ago leaning against a barn. Just chippin' away at it but finally got it to run last year and went for a beer at Paul and Jerry's in Jerome, AZ>

My 78 R100RS bought new in 1979 it was a leftover from 78 and i guess nobody liked the Gold color as it sat on the showroom for a long time. still my favorite ride. My 1200 GS is a fun ride but no personality.

Does anybody know what this style muffler/megaphone exhaust is called?
I've always liked them, but have always ended up buying them at swap meets, at least partially because I could never find them on the internet.

It is a Rocky brand muffler...and have been on the bike for more than 20 years...but you can get something similar looking here for cheap:

The 12 inch shorty's are the ones I like. Honestly..if I could find a spare set of headers, I would make up my race set-up with a two into one with a supertrapp tunable muffler instead. :1drink

The Farmers Market in Volente, Tx had a nice gathering of classic bikes, my wife and I rode our Buells there.
Neat bikes! The 1930 Indian Scout was particularly excellent!

these things were wicked fast for their day and the 500 modle would outrun the 750 right off the showroom floor!
