Camp chairs small and compact

Sat in a Kermit and yes it's very comfortable, but at $130 too rich for me. If it packed smaller you might rekindle my interest.

What we really need is the Kermit comfort/design in a Titanium frame that will bundle down to 3x3x22" or smaller.

That's not how it seems to works in practice. Those that don't have the $ make do by sitting in the Kermit owned by the guy who just got up to stir the fire or drain his bladder. Just saying.

When the number of campers is greater than the number of kermit chairs it's a regression to childhood games: musical chairs. The kermit's are never empty, only the people sitting in them change.

And THAT boys and girls is the best damn idea to come out of this whole thread so far. I like my Kermit but don't use it when I ride on two wheels. On three yes, but there's not enough room on the Ninja. As far as what they cost it's definitely a subjective matter and I expect anyone on this forum could afford one if they so chose. Class, whatever the hell that is, really doesn't have squat to do with it. I'm going to buy one of the GCI sling chairs just to try it out. If I don't like it or it hurts my tender butt I'll add it to the collection of useless hardware in the garage and my kids can deal with it when I croak.

Sure would like to see the Kermit guys do the Titanium frame thing though...

I just look for spot to lean my thermarest mattress against and sit on the ground with it bent up in the back to lean against. I do crave a BluegrassPicker monogrammed kermit chair though.....

Not hard to do, but it helps a lot to have one to copy to get all the holes in the right place so it folds properly. And stainless screws ain't cheap.

Here's an option that I haven't seen before. The Blue Max Saddlebag Chair. It's basically a typical aluminum and canvas folding chair with legs that break apart and are shock-corded like tent poles. At $35 ($25 each for 2 or more), it might bridge the gap between the $10 cheapies and the $130 luxury models. WebBikeWorld just did a review on it.

Kermit is nice, packs really small.

I now pack a much larger chair, that's nearly $100 cheaper and 100 times more comfortable

It's adjustable, has a head rest, built in foot stool, cup holder and can be strapped on your back and has a large rear storage compartment, big enough for a six pack and a couple bags of pork rinds

I've spoken with Tom Sherrill, owner of Kermit Chair Co., and am trying to get him to build some bigger ones. Apparently he has a pattern, and has built some prototypes.

If enough of us contact him, maybe he'll build us a run, or better yet start building them as a regular stock item.

Interesting observation on the backrest height. I haven't sat in one long enough to notice that, I was too focused on it being a few inches narrower than I would have liked.
