Help! Just bought a used coats 220. Going to start changing out my own tires. I had watched others do it before, but I must have not paid close enough attention. My old tire came off easy. Tried putting the new one( maxxis 6006) on and am starting to get frustrated. How exactly does the bar work to slip the tire over the rim? It will go on, but the tires bead keeps working off opposite where I'm working it on. Anybody got time to help out a tire changing idiot?

The first bead often just pushes over the rim easily, rarely needing much motivation. I'm assuming you have a hard time setting the 2nt. Make sure the opposite side is pushed down inside the center partition of the rim. If its still tight, there's nothing else that will help besides an iron. Lots of lube, I use RuGlide, helps.
Thanks for the help. I wasnt making sure the tire was in the deepest part of the rim. Tire went on pretty easy after that.
Glad you got it straightened out! Sometimes it helps to position yourself opposite the tool and use your knee to hold the tire into the inset, then your hands are both free to help manipulate.
