On the "Official Dakar Site" Jonah is the only entrant of 186 (bikes) to be listed as riding an "X" ! :huh He will surely be the "X" factor this year but found it funny they didn't have him listed as being on a Yamaha. He evidently needs bigger letters on his shirt! All the other riders "marques" are listed....
Yep HZJ Cruisers , every second person here in Australia has one you dont really want to go into the outback here without one, bloody unstopable
Happy new year to you all. I thought this was an interesting comment. Not wanting to rain on anyone's parade, but that might also be equally applicable to Cody.
Using this progressive ladder system, this should be Jonah's year to win about 3 stages and finish on the podium. I can't wait!
Could be Yamaha didn't kick in any money or support and the bike was chosen for other reasons and they left the brand blank to eliminate credit. I've heard of that being the case in other moto races, especially with privateers but he has Yamaha stickers on the beast. I could also be that someone just plain screwed up
Could be that the info was so far in advance that Street may not have found a ride at the time? At any rate, I'll be cheering for him! Just watched Race to Dakar and am so psyched!!
From dakar.com Street just in time.... American Jonah Street had a nasty surprise on arrival in Buenos Aires, when he found out that a significant part of his equipment, including his tyres, was still held up by the Argentine customs. The Californian biker, 7th in the 2010 edition, was finally able to retrieve his belongings yesterday at the end of the morning; not ideal preparation when aiming for a place on the podium. Its all the more annoying since the equipment arrived in Argentina two weeks ago, he says, and that the person her who was supposed to collect it didnt do it Street will thus be able to fit his new Yamaha with new tyres for its presentation on the podium today.
