Doug, whatever you do stay out of the McD's in Burns, I work in the area at least twice a month and have it from very reputable sources that bad things happen to food there. If you need something to chew on the DQ up street is safe but watch the deer darting from the cemetary as well as the safeway parking lot.

If you have any extra time ( yeha right) the BLM wild horse corrals are about 8 or 10 mile due west of Burns right off Hwy 20 on the right, they are pretty cool to see. As you leave Burns west through Hines there is a playground off to the right, the only reason I mention it is because there is a 15' or so high childrend slide that must have been constructed in the 40's. No guard rail, vertical steel rung ladder to reach it and and a mirror finish 24" wide frying pan hot ( in the summer) slide with a 3 " lip on each side for safety. Its a true thing of beauty without a scap of nerf of tupperware within 100 feet.....

A report quite a ways back shows the distance from Burns to Klamath Falls as 230 miles. If that is true - they can not go through Bend. They will have to ride straight south to Lakeview and then follow Hwy. 140 towards Bly Mtn. They then have the possible route of follow Hwy. 140 all the way to K-Falls or head west to Sprague River . Then south on Bliss Road to Hwy 140. This possible route saves a little hill climbing. We will see tomorrow.

I really don't see how any of this Jackie Gleason talk is germane to this ride report!

If not them I'll just have to find them in town. My understanding is Day's Inn?

I know, I just thought someone would get it (from the movie) :

Branford: The fact that you are a sheriff is not germane to the situation.

Buford Justice: The goddamn Germans got nothin' to do with it!

Can anyone confirm the route from Burns to Klamath Falls? I don't want to ride 100 miles in the wrong direction. Hwy 20 to Bend/ 97 to K-Falls or the Hwy 140 Route?:hmmmmm

They're being quiet about the route for a reason but going through Bend would add more miles than the schedule. I guess there's been a few near misses from folks riding along and not thinking that their new bike might stop and handle a little better.

I'll be riding down from Estacada. I'll be milling about since I don't know the area. If you see a lost looking guy on a red 1965 Ducati 250 with an ADV sticker, stop and holler at me.
